Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C351 DOBBS LANE, KESGRAVE
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C351 Dobbs Lane, Kesgrave from no. 81 Fir Cottage for 30 metres south eastbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A1214, Bell Lane, Foxhall Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/04/2025 - 09/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2605 PALMERSTON ROAD, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U2605 Palmerston Road, Ipswich from St Helens Street to Lancaster Road to facilitate a link box replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
• St Helens Street, St Margarets Street, Woodbridge Road, Palmerston Road and no vice versa
• Woodbridge Road, Argyle Street, St Helens Street and no vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/04/2025 - 11/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C508 New Street, Fressingfield from 70 metres southwest of the junction with Priory Crescent for 70 metres westbound to facilitate a new electrical connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Stradbroke Road, Pixey Green, Rattlerow Hill, the B1118, Top Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/04/2025 - 12/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U2717 The Street, Heveningham and the C216 Low Road, Heveningham to facilitate trial pits. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Barells Hill, Linstead Road, Cratfield Road, the road from B1117 to C216, Walpole Road, the B1117 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 07/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion route will be Brandeston Road, the A1120 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/04/2025 - 11/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE C431 VIOLET HILL AND U4540 ST EDMUNDS ROAD, STOWMARKET
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C431 Violet Hill, Stowmarket from the junction with Bury Road for 50 metres south westbound to facilitate cable installation and network upgrade. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be St Edmunds Road, Kingsmead Road, Silverdale Avenue, Windermere Road, Onehouse Road, Recreation Road and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the one-way provision on the U4540 St Edmunds Road, Stowmarket from the junction with Violet Hill for 215 metres north westbound.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/04/2025 - 17/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNES WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1078 IPSWICH ROAD, THE B1113 HIGH STREET, THE B1113 STOWMARKET ROAD AND THE B1113 BADLEY HILL, NEDGING WITH NAUGHTON, NEEDHAM MARKET AND BADLEY
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1078 Ipswich Road, Nedging with Naughton from 100 metres south east of no. 1 Ipswich Road for 80 metres south eastbound to facilitate an access point reinstatement to a previous water main installation. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1078, the B1113, the A1308, the B1115, the B1078 and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will be a temporary suspension of the 7.5 tonnes weight restriction on the following roads.
• B1113 High Street, Needham Market
• B1113 Ipswich Road, Needham Market
• B1113 Stowmarket Road, Needham Market
• B1113 Badley Hill, Badley
• B1113 Stowmarket Road, Badley
It is intended that these measures will operate from 8pm on 28/03/2025 to 5am on 31/03/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Northbound – A1088 from District Boundary to the A14, Elmswell, A14 junction to A1088, Mid Suffolk, the A14 from junction A1088 to junction A134, Mid Suffolk, the A14 junction A143, St. Edmundsbury, Compiegne Way, Bury St Edmunds, Bury Road, Great Barton, The Street, Great Barton, Ixworth Road, Great Barton, the A143 Bury Road, Pakenham, the A143 Ixworth, Ixworth and no vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/04/2025 - 11/04/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Coalpit Lane, Forest Heath, Higham, Coalpit Lane, Barrow Road, Colethorpe Lane, Denham Lane, Barrow, Denham, Barrow Road, the road from the C659 to the B1085, St Edmundsbury, Denham, Denham Road, Dalham, Dalham Road, Ousden, Denham Road, Lidgate Road, The Street, Gazeley Road, the C655 from Dalham to Gazeley, Dalham Dalham Road, The Street, Higham Road, Gazeley, Gazeley Road, Lower Green, Forest Heath, Higham and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/04/2025 - 12/04/2025 from 8pm - 5am with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
