What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

Temporary Road Closure

Bradfords Lane – from the junction with A22 Uckfield bypass to the junction with U7518 Bradfords Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7518 Bradfords Lane – A26 Lewes Road – A22 Uckfield bypass and vice versa.

The Order commenced 10 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 31 March and 8 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(U7403 Layby Old A22, Halland)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) 

Order 2025 No.2

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Layby Old A22 – from the junction with A22 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7403 Bradfords Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Eastbourne Road – U7403 Bradfords Lane and vice versa.

The Order commenced 13 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 21 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(A26 Cuilfail Tunnel/Southerham Road, Lewes) 

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) 

Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under

Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cuilfail Tunnel/Southerham Road – from A26 Cuilfail Tunnel roundabout to the junction with U5143 South Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via A27 Southerham roundabout, Lewes bypass to Ashcombe roundabout – A275 Brighton Road – A277 Lewes High Street – A2029 Market Street, North Street, Little East Street – A26 Phoenix Causeway and southbound via Cuilfail Tunnel – A26 Phoenix Causeway – U5140 Malling Street – U5143 South Street.

The Order commenced 7 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below, depending upon the weather conditions; On 4 and 5 April 2025 from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs.

(B2123 The Drove, Village Way,  Ridge Road, Park Street, 

Park Street North, South Street, 

East Street, Middle Street and 

Mill Street, Falmer) (Prohibition of Waiting  and Prohibition of Driving)  Traffic Regulation Order 2013

The following additional/amended fixture times below will have the above Order restrictions imposed on the roads as listed from 4 hours before the commencement of the event held at The American Express Community Stadium until up to 2 hours after the event has finished;

Park Street, South Street, East Street (Falmer Village South) in their entirety; Mill Street, Park Street North, Middle Street (Falmer Village North) in their entirety; and Ridge Road (Falmer Village North) from its junction with Middle Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 120 metres to its junction with Mill Street.

This is an additional fixture which may go to extra time and penalties.

Wednesday 2 April 2025 BHAFC vs. Aston Villa KO 7.45pm

This is the rescheduled fixture originally to be held

Tuesday 1 April 2025

BHAFC vs. Aston Villa KO 7.45pm

Access for residents on these roads will not be affected. For matches played behind closed doors the restrictions stated above may not apply.
