Cambridgeshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Infrastructure Works

What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Ely Footpath 23, Ely Temporary Prohibition of Use – Order 25-391

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Ely Footpath 23, Ely as lies 10m either side of the footbridge. The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footbridge redecking, parapet replacement, vegetation removal & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 7/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 6/10/25 whichever is the earlier.

High Street & Minsters Place, Ely Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Temporary Revocation of One-Way Traffic Order – Order 2025-394

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street & Minsters Place, Ely as lies between Minsters Place & St Mary’s St. During the period this Order remains in force The County of Cambridgeshire (Various Streets, Ely) (One-Way Traffic) (Consolidation) Order 1979: Save as provided in Article 3 of this Order no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in any of the roads or lengths of roads specified in column 1 of the schedule to this Order in a direction other than that specified in relation to those roads & lengths of road, as the case may be, in column 2 of the said schedule.

Column 1: Minster Place

Column 2: from north to south.

Column 1: The Gallery

Column 2: from north to south is hereby suspended insofar as it affects Minsters Place & The Gallery as lies between its junctions with High Street & Silver Street.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B1382; Lisle Ln; Forehill; Broad St; Back Hill C317; Back Hill; The Gallery; Minster Place & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway improvements & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 7/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 6/10/26 whichever is the earlier.

Queen Adelaide Way, Ely Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-422

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Queen Adelaide Way, Ely as lies between Stuntney Causeway & the B1382. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1382; Kings Ave Lynn Rd; B1382; Cambridge Rd; A142; Stuntney Causeway & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate drainage investigations, reset cover & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 8/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 7/10/26 whichever is the earlier.

Broad Piece, Soham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-426

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Broad Piece, Soham as lies between No’s. 7 & 20. The alternative route for vehicles is via Broad Piece; Mereside; Julius Martin Ln; Townsend; The Shade; A142; Barway Rd; Blockmoor Rd; The Cotes & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 7/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 6/10/26 whichever is the earlier.

Mereside, Soham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-431

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Mereside, Soham as lies between Julius Martin Ln & Kingsfisher Dr. The alternative route for vehicles is via Broad Piece; The Cotes; Blackmoor Rd; Baraway Rd; A142; The Shade; Townsend; Julius Martin Ln & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 16/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 15/10/26 whichever is the earlier.

Prickwillow Road B1382, Queen Adelaide Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-453

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Prickwillow Road B1382, Queen Adelaide as lies between No. 31 & Padnal Bank. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1382; A1101; Branch Bank, Littleport; Padnal Bank, Queen Adelaide; B1382 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gully clearing, drainage, culvert maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 21/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 20/10/26 whichever is the earlier.

Station Road, Isleham Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-485

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road, Isleham as lies between Isleham Rail Bridge & Mildendhall Rd. The alternative route for vehicles is via Mildenhall Rd, Isleham; Mildenhall Rd, Fordham; Church St; B1102; Sharwens Rd; Soham Rd; Fordham Rd C145, Soham; Soham Bypass; Northfield Rd; Great Fen Rd; B1104; B1104, Isleham; Pound Ln; Church St; Mill St & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pipe laying & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 7/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 6/4/26 whichever is the earlier.

Woodfen Road, Littleport Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-493

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Woodfen Road, Littleport as lies between A10 and Parsons Ln. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical ducting and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 14/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 13/10/25 whichever is the earlier.

Footpath off the Orchards, Sutton Temporary Prohibition of Use – Order 25-498

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Footpath off the Orchards, Sutton as lies between No. 33 & Tower Rd. The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 28/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 27/10/26 whichever is the earlier.

Chatteris Road A142, Mepal Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-457

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Chatteris Road A142, Mepal as lies between Mepal Long Highway & New Bedford River. The alternative route for vehicles is via A142; A1421; A1123; A141; A142 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate structure maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 25/4/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 24/10/26 whichever is the earlier.

Various Roads, East Division Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-388

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads as set out in Schedule 1 below. Nothing in this Order shall prevent access & egress from premises on or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1. The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate footway slurry sealing & associated works. The proposed Order will come into operation on 5/4/25 & will continue until these works have finished or on the 4/10/26 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations at various times during the dates specified in the Schedule.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The Orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire-& Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
