Surrey - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic For Bt Openreach To Carry Out Telecom Works
What is happening?
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Doghurst Lane (D1083) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Doghurst Lane (D1083) Chipstead which extends from its junction with Walpole Avenue (D1083) to its junction with High Road (C136).
Alternative Route – High Road (C136), Hazelwood Lane (C137) and Doghurst Lane (D1083) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 09 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
River Lane (D2566) & Mole Road (D2566) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) River Lane (D2566) Fetcham which extends from the northeastern property boundary line of “Hawthorn Cottage” to the southeastern property boundary line of “Tanglewood” and; (b) Mole Road (D2566) Fetcham which extends from the northwestern property boundary line of “No. 5 Mole Road” to its junction with River Lane (D2566).
Alternative Route – No diversion route available.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out fibre cabling works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
D2508 Cobham Road, Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of D2508 Cobham Road, Fetcham that extends from the north-western property boundary of “No.158 Cobham Road”, to the south-western property boundary of “No.140 Cobham Road”. This Temporary Order is required to enable BT Openreach to carry out poling and/or cabling and improvement works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 April 2025. This temporary restriction will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Bakers Mead (D403) Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 21 March 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bakers Mead (D403) Godstone as extends from its junction with Ockleys Mead (D403) in a northwards direction to the end of the cul-de-sac.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Order is required to allow SES Water to facilitate a new water connection and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days during the hours of 8.00am to 4.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 6 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained using road boards.
High Street (D2536) and East Street (D2557) Bookham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 21 March 2025, Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of: (a) High Street (D2536) Bookham as extends from its junction with Lower Road (D265) to a point 15 metres southeast of this junction and (b) East Street (D2557) Bookham as extends from its junction with Lower Road (D265) to a point 13 metres south east of this junction.
Alternative Route – 1. Lower Road, Eastwick Road and A246 (Guildford Road), or the same route in reverse. 2. Lower Road, The Lorne, Hawkwood Rise and A246 (Guildford Road), or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate gas works and/or other associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, between 8.00am and 4.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 7 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Reigate Road (A240) Burgh Heath Temporary Prohibition of Left Turn Order 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles that are travelling south eastbound on Reigate Road (A240) Burgh Heath from turning left into (A217) Brighton Road. Alternative Route: (A217) Brighton Road, and (A240) Reigate Road, or this route in reverse. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to facilitate electrical utility works and/or any other associated works to be carried out for, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 12 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary prohibition, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
St Albans Road (D1206) and Somers Road (D1207) Reigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of; (a) St Albans Road (D1206) Reigate; (b) that length of Somers Road (D1207) Reigate as extends from its junction with (D1206) St Albans Road and for a distance of 10 metres either side.
Alternative Route: (1) Somers Road, Nutley Lane, Yorke Road, (A217) London Road, (A217) Reigate Hill, and Brokes Road, or this route in reverse; (2) St Albans Road, Brokes Road, (A217) Reigate Hill, and Somers Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 9 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 07 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Westway (D1399) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Westway (D1399) Caterham as extends from its junction with (B2031) Chaldon Road to its junction with (D1399) Money Road. Alternative Route: (B2031) Chaldon Road, Coulsdon Road, and Westway, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 29 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Chalkpit Lane (C74) Oxted Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Chalkpit Lane (C74) Oxted as extends from its junction with (D441) Gordons Way to a point in line with the common boundary between No.41 and No.43 Chalkpit Lane; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Chalkpit Lane (C74) Oxted Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety.
Alternative Route: Chalkpit Lane, Gordons Way, Barrow Green Road, (A25) Godstone Road, (A25) Oxted Road, Tandridge Hill Lane, Gangers Hill, The Ridge, and Chalkpit Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate overhead structural works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 09.30am and 3.30pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Cogmans Lane (D369) Smallfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 26 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Cogmans Lane (D369) Smallfield. Alternative Route: Normans Road, Chapel Road, Redehall Road, Plough Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate drainage utility works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no vehicular access through the closure, and all traffic including emergency service vehicles, will be required to follow the diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any
such danger arising.
Evesham Road and Beaufort Road (D1203) Reigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Evesham Road (D1203) Reigate as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between property No.20 and No.22 Evesham Road to its junction with (D1203) Beaufort Road; (b) Beaufort Road (D1203) Reigate as extends from its junction with (D1203) Evesham Road to its junction with (D1203) Saxon Way.
Alternative Route: (1) Evesham Road, Evesham Road North, South Albert Road, Nutley Lane, Upper West Street, (A25) London Road, (A25) Castlefield Road, (A25) Church Street, (A25) High Street, (A25) West Street, and Evesham Road; (2) Beaufort Road, Nutley Lane, South Albert Road, Evesham Road North, and Evesham Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks, in 2 phases, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Brickhouse Lane (D373) Newchapel Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Brickhouse Lane (D373) Newchapel as extends from its junction with (X34072) Clay Lane to its junction with (D374) Hare Lane.
Alternative Route: Brickhouse Lane, Byers Lane, (A22) Eastbourne Road, (B2028) West Park Road, Bones Lane, and Brickhouse Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate water utility works for, or on behalf of SES Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Farleigh Road (D1352) Warlingham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Farleigh Road (D1352) Warlingham. This Order is required to facilitate lead replacement works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 11 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 22 April 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates, if required, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
