Barnsley, Newton Chambers Roundabout To Flouch Roundabout - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A616 TRUNK ROAD (LAYBYS FROM NEWTON CHAMBERS ROUNDABOUT TO FLOUCH ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A616 Trunk Road, in the County of South Yorkshire, to enable grass cutting, sign cleaning, gully emptying and sweeping works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start at 9am on Tuesday 1 April 2025 for 52 weeks, or until completed.

The effect of the Order will be to close at times, between 9am and 8pm the laybys adjacent to the A616 eastbound and westbound carriageways from

Newton Chambers Roundabout to Flouch Roundabout, a distance of 17059 metres.

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance
or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on

31 March 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
