What is happening?

North Street, Ilminster in the Parish of Ilminster
(Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2025

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as detailed in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 10th day of April 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months.

The Works are expected to commence on the 14th day of April 2025 to the 17th day of April 2025 (between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00) to enable Wessex Water to carry out a new connection. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
