B5246 Station Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For Level Crossing Servicing Works

(B5246 STATION ROAD, RUFFORD, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of B5246 Station Road, Rufford from property number 28 to a point 20m East of Station Road Level Crossing.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours until 1600 hours on Sunday 6th April 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- B5246 Station Road, Rufford (into Chorley Borough) – B5246 Meadow Lane, Mawdesley – B5246 Rufford Road, Mawdesley – B5246 Rufford Road, Bispham – B5246 Hall Lane, Bispham (into West Lancashire Borough) – B5246 Robin Lane, Bispham – B5246 Robin Lane, Hilldale – B5246 Chorley Road, Hilldale – B5246 Chorley Road, Parbold – B5246 Lancaster Lane, Parbold – A5209 Alder Lane, Parbold – A5209 Ash Brow, Newburgh – A5209 Course Lane, Newburgh – A5209 Lowry Hill Lane, Lathom – A5209 Briars Lane, Lathom – A5209 Briars Lane, Burscough – A5209 Square Lane, Burscough – A59 Liverpool Road South, Burscough – A59 Liverpool Road North, Burscough – A59 Moss Lane, Burscough – A59 Causeway Lane, Rufford – A59 Liverpool Road, Rufford – B5246 Diamond Jubilee Road, Rufford – B5246 Station Road, Rufford and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow level crossing servicing works to be carried out by Centurion Site Services in conjunction of Network Rail.
