Shropshire - Variois Road Traffic Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S - PUBLIC
NOTICES OF INTENTION

NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for
cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 7th April 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Bearstone Road, Bearstone
Date & Duration: 8th April 2025 between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Tree trimming - No excavation
Alternative Route : Bearstone Road, A53


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Booley Road, Stanton Upon Hine Heath
Date & Duration: 11th April 2025 for 19 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Install approx 201m of new track and 11x toby boxes.
Alternative Route : Booley Road, Unnamed road North East, A53, Unnamed road West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Road, Dorrington
Date & Duration: 13th April 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, new customer connection.
Alternative Route : A49, Back Lane, Church Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Copes Lane, Welshampton
Date & Duration: 8th April 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water Connection
Alternative Route : A495, Stocks Lane, Unnamed road North East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using English Walls, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 13th April 2025 between 08:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water Connection
Alternative Route : Salop Road, Roft Street, Smithfield Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Friars Street, Bridgnorth. At the same time the one way order will be suspended to allow access
Date & Duration: 7th April 2025 for 1 day between 09:00 to 15:30 and 6th May 2025 for 1 day between 09:00 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure- Pumping concrete
Alternative Route : Cartway, River Side, Southwell Riverside, Friars Street



Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hinwood Road, Asterley
Date & Duration: 8th April 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, hydrant rebuild chamber.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, B4387, B4386, Hinwood Road



Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using Middlegate, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 9th April 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Footpath Closure - Cadent Gas, Lay new gas service to residential property.
Alternative Route : Overstone, Middlegate


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A489 Churchstoke to Pentreheyling
Date & Duration: 9th April 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs to include kerbing, sign posts and iron works.
Alternative Route : A489, A483, A490


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road at Detton Mill Bridge, Oreton
Date & Duration: 7th April 2025 for 9 days
Purpose: Take down and rebuild damage section of downstream parapet. Repair damaged area of arch ring and reuses existing stone where possible.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road North towards Bagginswood, Unnamed road West through Prescott and towards Oreton, Oreton Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Welsh Walls, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 7th April 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Church Street, Willow Street or Castle Street, Beatrice Street, Oswald Road, Salop Street, Lower Brook Street


Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using Footpath at The Oaklands, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 7th April 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Footpath Closure - BT, to provide a safe working area for engineers to access existing footpath box to provide service to a customer.
Alternative Route : The Oaklands


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Forton And Little Ness
Date & Duration: 11th April 2025 for 7 nights between 20:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Freedom Fibre, cabling and reactive civil works.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West through Great Ness, Unnamed road South East, A5, B4380, Forton Bank


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Silvington and Farlow
Date & Duration: 9th April 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Road Closure is required for pole testing.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, High Lane, Unnamed road South towards Farlow, Unnamed road South West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Stanton Long and B4368
Date & Duration: 7th April 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Bbox Renew
Alternative Route : B4368, Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road North East through Holdgate to Stanton Long, Unnamed road North West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between The A49 and Smethcott
Date & Duration: 8th April 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, replace telegraph pole in verge.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road South East through Smethcott and Walkmills, Unnamed road North East, A49, Unnamed road South West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using King Street, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 11th April 2025 from 19:00 to 06:00 12th April 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Rebuild 5 chambers in carriageway
Alternative Route : Old Street, Ludford, Whitcliffe road, Middlewood road, Dinham, Mill Street, Bell Lane, Broad Street


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road through Stanton Upon Hine Heath
Date & Duration: 7th April 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Install new chamber, approx 10m carriageway track and desilt works
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, A53, Unnamed road West and North West, Unnamed North East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using York Street, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 10th April 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs.
Alternative Route : Oak Street, Castle Street, Castlefields, Albert Road
