What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(HEYWOOD STREET, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

Heywood Street, Bury – between Parker Street & Rochdale Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate gas main replacement works

The alternative route will be via Rochdale Road, Angouleme Way, Market Street, Wellington Road & vice-versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 07 April 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 2 weeks

(DUNDEE LANE, RAMSBOTTOM)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

Dundee Lane, Ramsbottom – between Downfield Close and the access to Woodside

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate a new gas supply to property

The alternative route will be via Bolton Street, Carr Street & Tanners Street & vice-versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 07 April 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration is 3 weeks

(BUTTERWORTH STREET, DERBYSHIRE STREET, HOLLAND STREET, RADCLIFFE, CECIL STREET, BURY, GARNETT STREET, QUEEN STREET, RAMSBOTTOM)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:

1) Butterworth Street, Radcliffe

2) Derbyshire Street, Radcliffe

3) Holland Street, Radcliffe

4) Cecil Street, Bury

5) Garnett Street, Ramsbottom

6) Queen Street, Ramsbottom

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.

Alternative routes:

3) via Park Street, Cross Lane & Withins Street & vice-versa,

6) via Garnett Street, Bolton Street & Buchanan Street & vice-versa

The Order will come into operation on Tuesday 01 April 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is up to 5 weeks at each location.

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (ALBERT CLOSE, WHITEFIELD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council has made the above named Order under sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Order will be the introduction of a No waiting at any time

Albert Close, Whitefield – northerly side, from a point 187.5 metres east of the easterly kerbline of Moss Lane for a distance of 55 metres in an easterly direction.

A copy of the Order (including the exemptions contained in it) which comes into operation on 27 March 2025 and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected at Town Hall, Bury, BL9 0SW.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks of 27 March 2025 apply to the High Court for that purpose.
