Finsthwaite Lane, Backbarrow - Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C5049 Finsthwaite Lane, Backbarrow, from a point approx. 185m south west of its junction with the A590, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 660m.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of C5049, U5222 and A590.

The Order will come into operation on 14th April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 9 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
