What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Chilfrome Lane, Higher Frome Vauchurch

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHILFROME LANE, HIGHER FROME VAUCHURCH between the electricity substation and a point approximately 70 metres north. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14 April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 02 May 2025.

This Order will enable Dyer and Butler safe access to carry out masonry works on the structure.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using the A356.

Temporary Closure of Duck Street, Cerne Abbas

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along DUCK STREET, CERNE ABBAS between its junction with Wills Lane and its junction with Springfield, a distance of approximately 120 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14 April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 April 2025.

This Order will enable Blade Traffic Management to facilitate the removal and rebuild of the retaining wall to allow delivery of modular construction pieces.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using The Folly - A352.

Temporary Closure of Sydling Road, Grimstone

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along SYDLING ROAD, GRIMSTONE, between its junction with A37 and a point approximately 150 metres to the east. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14 April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 07 April 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Dorchester Hill, Blandford St Mary

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14[1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Dorchester Hill, Blandford St Mary at its junction with West Street. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7th April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17th April 2025.

This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out works to the water main in the middle of the highway.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14[1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 11 April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 April 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on West Stafford roundabout between 11 -13 April 2025 inclusive.

[2] To impose temporary road closure on Trumpet Major roundabout - 22 - 24 April 2025 between 2000hrs and 0600hrs.

[3] To impose temporary road closure on Max Gate roundabout - 24 - 26 April 2025 between 2000hrs and 0600hrs.

[4] To impose temporary one-way on West Stafford roundabout - 11 -13 April 2025.

[5] To impose temporary clearway on Trumpet Major roundabout - 22 - 24 April 2025 between 2000hrs and 0600hrs.

[6] To impose temporary clearway on Max Gate roundabout - 24 - 26 April 2025 between 2000hrs and 0600hrs.

Vehicles parked in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner is advised to contact the Council’s parking contractor: Ashlewood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.

A locally signed diversion route will be in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
