Cheddon Road, Taunton in the Parish of Taunton

(Temporary One-Way) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that on the 21st day of March 2025 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 13th day of March 2025, to introduce a temporary one-way restriction on the road specified in the Schedule below.

This Order will come into operation on the 27th day of March 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 1st day of April 2025 until the 4th day of April 2025 (between 0800 hours and 1800 hours) to enable National Grid safe access to carry out works to the underground electricity network. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Temporary One-Way (Southbound Only)

Cheddon Road, Taunton – from a point 25 metres south from its junction with Belgrave Place in a southerly direction to the junction with the A358 Priorswood Road and the A358 St Andrews Road.

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road;

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
