What is happening?

South Lanarkshire Council
Use of off-Street Parking Places (Notice No.4) 2025

In exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) South Lanarkshire Council hereby give notice of their intention to vary the charges contained within the South Lanarkshire Council (Use of Off-street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2011 and the South Lanarkshire Council (Use of Off-street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2011, Amendment No. 1 Order 2015 as they apply to leaving a vehicle in off-street parking places.

This notice applies to the following off-street parking places:-

Hairmyres Station car park, East Kilbride, Regent Drive park and ride car park, Rutherglen, Wellhall Road car park and Palace Grounds (Public car park), both Hamilton as described in the said Order. 

The existing charges in relation to Hairmyres Station car park, East Kilbride, Regent Drive park and ride car park, Rutherglen and Wellhall Road car park, Hamilton off-street parking places are:-

Up to 10 hours £1.00 in any day – charges apply from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday inclusive.

The amended charges in relation to each of these off-street parking places in terms of this Notice shall be:-

Up to 10 hours £1.20 in any day – charges apply from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday inclusive.

The existing charges in relation Palace Grounds (public car park), Hamilton off-street parking places are:- 

For any length of period, up to a maximum of 24 hours, in any one day £1.00

The amended charges in relation to this off-street parking place in terms of this notice shall be:-

For any length of period, up to a maximum of 24 hours, in any one day £1.20

This notice will come into force at 12.01am on 1 May 2025.
