What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Various
Roads, Selby Area, Order 2025, No. 78 We have made this Order to
prohibit any vehicle from using Edgerton Drive, Tadcaster, Edgerton Court,
Tadcaster, Edgeton Garth, Tadcaster, Aspen Way, Tadcaster, Cedar Drive,
Tadcaster, Beech Walk, Tadcaster, Fairfield Road, Tadcaster, Fairfield
Way, Tadcaster, Moor Lane, Sherburn in Elmet, Scalm Lane, Cawood,
Hagg Lane, Cawood, (A19) York Road to Main Street, Riccall, Low Moor
Road, South Duffield, Turnham Lane, Cliffe, Hillam Common Lane, Hillam,
Hillam Lane, Gateforth, Turver's Lane, Beal, Stocking Lane, Kellington,
(A19) Doncaster Road, (Whitley to Balne crossroads), Whitley, Heck Lane,
Hensall, Camela Lane, Camblesforth, Brigg Lane, Camblesforth, Brigg Lane
to Gated End, Camblesforth, Beech Tree Lane, Camblesforth, Manor Drive,
Camblesforth, Manor Close, Camblesforth, Mill Lane, Camblesforth,

Sherburn in Elmet for a temporary period (subject to access to premises)
between 01/04/25 & 30/09/25, due to Surface Dressing works in the
carriageway. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local

Riccall Lane, Kelfield, 40 Mph Speed Limit, Experimental Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 21/03/25 The North Yorkshire Council made
an Order under Sections 9 & 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 &
Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to impose a 40
mph Speed Limit on Riccall Lane, Kelfield from the existing 30 mph signs in
an easterly direction for 356m, for an experimental period of 18 months. A
copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 31/03/25, together with a
map showing the road affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for
making the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at
Barlby Library and Community Hub, Howden Road, Barlby, Selby YO8 5JE
during normal office hours from 27/03/25 until 30/09/25 & also viewed
online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or
www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. The Council will be
considering, in due course, whether the provisions of the Order should be
continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of 6 months from the coming
into force of the Order, or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified,
from the coming into operation of that variation or modification (whichever is
the later), any person may object to the making of an Order for the purposes
of such indefinite continuation. Any person wishing to object to the indefinite
continuation of the Order must state the grounds for their objection, in
writing, addressed to Area 7 Selby Highways Office, Canal Road, Selby,
North Yorkshire YO8 0AG or by email to Area7.Selby@northyorks.gov.uk or
via the website link above by 30/09/25. If any person wishes to question the
validity of the above Experimental Order or of any provision contained in it,
on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement
of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with
in relation to the Order, they may, within 6 weeks of 21/03/25 make
application to the High Court for that purpose.
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment
No Tbc, Order 2025 Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire
Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2),
32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule
9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of
which will be to amend “The North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of
Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Selby) Consolidation
Order 2013” by introducing the restrictions specified below:- Table –
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Waiting
Prohibited At All Times With Exemptions Low Street, Sherburn in Elmet,
East side from Southern boundary of the Eversley Centre car park to South
for 70m to the bus stop. A copy of the draft Order, together with a map
showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council's reasons for
proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton
& at Finkle Hill, Sherburn In Elmet LS25 6EA during normal office hours
from 27/03/25 to 08/05/25 & also viewed online at

www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. If you wish to object to the
proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection, in writing,
addressed to Area 7 Selby Highways Office, Canal Road, Selby, North
Yorkshire YO8 0AG or by email to Area7.Selby@northyorks.gov.uk or via
