Highways Notice
Notice Of Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic – Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Audley Street, Crewe
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – Audley Street, Crewe – For the full extent.
The alternative route will be via Cumberland Close, Henry Street, Coronation Street and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Tuesday 8 April 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Monday 28 April 2025.

Public Right of Way Notices
The Cheshire East Borough Council (Public Footpath No. 7 (Part) Parish of Buerton) Public Path Diversion Order 2025
The above Order was made on the 27 February 2025, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order will be to divert that length of Public Footpath No. 7 in the Parish of Buerton commencing at O.S. grid reference SJ 6888 4342 and running in a generally southerly direction for approximately 45 metres to O.S. grid reference SJ 6888 4338, to a new line commencing at O.S. grid reference SJ 6888 4342 and running in a generally east south easterly direction for approximately 78 metres to O.S. grid reference SJ 6895 4341 and then running in a generally south south easterly direction for approximately 17 metres to O.S. grid reference SJ 6896 4340 at the junction with Buerton Footpath No.29.
The total distance of the proposed diversion is approximately 95 metres. Copies of the Order, plan and statement detailing reasons for making the order may be obtained free of charge from the undersigned.
Any representations about, or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to prow@cheshireeast.gov.uk or Director of Governance and Compliance, Cheshire East Council, Municipal Buildings, c/o Delamere House, Delamere Street, Crewe, CW1 2LL not later than 28th April 2025.
Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Cheshire East Borough Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order.
If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations and objections that have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDERS
The following three Orders are confirmed but are not yet operational. Each will become operational on the date on which the Council certifies that the terms of Article 2 within the Order, have been complied with.
The effect of the three Orders as confirmed, is to divert lengths of Public Footpath in the Parish of Nantwich as detailed below (note that all directions are general, and all distances are approximate).
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 119
The Cheshire East Borough Council, (Footpath No. 35 (Parts) in the Parish of Nantwich (formerly Footpath No. 4 Parish of Henhull), Public Path Diversion Order 2024
That length of footpath commencing at OS grid reference (OSGR) GR SJ 6486 5334 and running south, south westerly for 90m to OSGR SJ 6484 5325, to a new length commencing at OSGR SJ 6486 5334 and running south easterly for 93m to OSGR SJ 6493 5328, and then running west, south westerly for 95m to OSGR SJ 6484 5325.
That length of footpath commencing at OSGR SJ 6480 5321 and running southerly for 156m to OSGR SJ 6483 5306, and then running south, south westerly for a 80m to OSGR SJ 6480 5298, to a new line commencing at OSGR SJ 6480 5321 and running southerly for 22m to OSGR SJ 6480 5319, and then running south, south westerly for 19m to OSGR SJ 6479 5317, and then running south, south easterly for 69m to OSGR SJ 6482 5310, and then running southerly for 48m to OSGR SJ 6482 5305, and then running south, south westerly for 80m to OSGR SJ 6479 5298.
Town And Country Planning Act 1990 Section 257

That length of Public Footpath No. 36 in the Parish of Nantwich, commencing at OSGR SJ 6502 5357 and running south westerly for 140m to OSGR SJ 6493 5346, to a new line commencing at OSGR SJ 6506 5355 and running south, south westerly for 77m to OSGR SJ 6501 5349, and then running west, south westerly for 87m to OSGR SJ 6493 5346.
That length of Public Footpath No. 36 in the Parish of Nantwich, commencing at OSGR SJ 6492 5345 and running south, south westerly for 119m to OSGR SJ 6486 5334, to a new line commencing at OSGR SJ 6492 5345 and running south westerly for 39m to OSGR SJ 6490 5341, and then continuing south, south westerly for 79m to OSGR SJ 64864 53349, and then running south easterly for 4m to OSGR SJ 64868 53346.
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257

That length of Public Footpath No. 37 in the Parish of Nantwich, commencing at OSGR SJ 6485 5352 and running southerly for 175m to OSGR SJ 6487 5335, to a new line commencing at OSGR SJ 6485 5352 and running south, south westerly for 45m to OSGR SJ 6482 5348, and then running south, south easterly for 128m to OSGR SJ 6487 5337.
Copies of the confirmed Orders and Plans have been deposited and may be seen free of charge by appointment during normal office hours in the Rights of Way Unit at the office of the undersigned.

For each Order, if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Act under which it was made, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may make application to the High Court within 6 weeks of 26th March 2025 under the appropriate legislation as follows:
For the Order made under the Highways Act 1980, as amended, apply under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act, as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act. For the two Orders made under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, apply under section 287 of the Act.
