NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY FOR THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE
PUBLIC FOOTPATH FROM BANKS ROAD TO STATION ROAD, NORTH MEOLS, WEST
LANCASHIRE BOROUGH (DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION) ORDER 2014
On the 21 February 2025 the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above Order.
The effect of the Order, as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by adding a public footpath from Banks Road (SD 3796 2086) adjacent to 100 Banks Road running in a south south easterly direction along the east side of a field boundary for approximately 90 metres on a 1.5 metre wide undefined route to cross a field boundary and then continuing in a generally south easterly direction parallel to The Sluice for approximately 520 metres as a 3 metre wide path to junction with Station Road (SD 3826 2033), for a total distance of approximately 610 metres.
A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at the offices of the West Lancashire Borough Council, and at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00.

The Order took effect on the 21 February 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under Paragraph 11 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from the date of publication of this Notice, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
