WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14

(PUGNEYS ROAD, WAKEFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 71) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow verge and footway reconstruction to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Pugneys Road from its junction with Clifford Avenue to its junction with Portobello Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Pugneys Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Clifford Avenue, Warren Avenue, Portobello Road and vice versa

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 31st March 2025 at 07:30 hours until 2nd May 2025 at 15:30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WOODTHORPE LANE, WAKEFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 72) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement works to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Woodthorpe Lane, Wakefield from the junction of Barnsley Road for 105 metres affecting inbound traffic only. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Woodthorpe Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barnsley Road, Woodland Drive, Pledwick Lane, Woodthorpe Lane and vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 31st March 2025 to 11th April 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(KIRKGATE, WAKEFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 73) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow crane operations to assemble & lift a heavy support beam into position to allow unsafe cladding to be removed to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Kirkgate, Wakefield near the junction with George Street. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Kirkgate.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Kirkgate, The Springs, Westmorland Street, Bull Ring, Marygate, Westgate, Quebec Street, Ings Road, Kirkgate & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 29th March 2025 to 30th March 2025, one night between 19.30 hours to 07.30 hours or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(GRANDSTAND ROAD (STANLEY BYWAY 64), LOFTHOUSE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 74) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for footway surfacing works to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Grandstand Road (Stanley Byway 64), Lofthouse between Lawns Lane junction and entrance to Integrated Third Party Logistics. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Grandstand Road (Stanley Byway 64).

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Lawns Lane, Lingwell Gate Lane, Kenmore Road, Grandstand Road.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 31st March 2025 to 4th April 2025, between 7.30 hours to 15.00 hours or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WATSON CRESCENT, WAKEFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 75) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for verge hardening and footway surfacing works to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Watson Crescent, Wakefield from Shepley Street to Woodhouse Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Watson Crescent.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Watson Crescent, Shepley Street, Greenwood Road, Woodhouse Road, Watson Crescent & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 31st March 2025 to 2nd May 2025, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(MAPLE STREET, WAKEFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 76) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for excavation on behalf of Northern Powergrid to upgrade of underground electrical infrastructure to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Maple Street, Wakefield, for approximately 15 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Maple Street.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Silcoates Street, Peacock Avenue, Blakey Road, Walnut Crescent, Maple Street and vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 3rd April 2025 until 16th April 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
