What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (A595, HOLMROOK) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the A595, Holmrook from its junction with the B5344, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 490m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the A595, A5092, A509, A591, A6 and the A66.

The Order will come into operation on 31 March 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 6 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

N.B. It is anticipated that the road will be closed between 1900 and 0500 hours however, vehicles will be permitted to travel through the closed length of road between 1900 hours and 2200 hours, provided it is deemed safe to do so and only under traffic management provisions which will be a convoy vehicle controlling the traffic from either end of the closure points.
