Guildford On-Street Parking Management Review – Proposed Amendments To The Guildford Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone Changes To The Dates Of Issue Of Parking Permits

Notice is hereby given that Surrey County Council (“the County Council”) proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the purpose and effect of which will be to further amend “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the Borough of Guildford (Guildford Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone) (Consolidation of Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Street Parking Places and Revocation) Order 2009” (hereinafter called “the Order of 2009”). The Order, to be known as “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in the Borough of Guildford (Guildford Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone) (Consolidation of Waiting and Loading Restrictions Street Parking Places and Revocation) Amendment (No. 2) Order 202-“, the general purpose and effect of which will be to alter the dates that all the parking permits are renewed (excluding car club parking permits which will remain unchanged) to reflect the current arrangements and to carry out consequential minor drafting amendments to the Order of 2009.

A copy of the draft Order, together with a Statement of the County Council’s Reasons for Proposing the Order, six plans showing the various Catchment Areas within the Guildford Town Centre CPZ and the Order of 2009 (and the Orders which have previously amended that Order, together with the plans that accompany all those sealed Orders) may be inspected, free of charge –

(a) at the Main Reception, Guildford Borough Council, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive; or

(b) by prior arrangement by telephoning or emailing the County Council’s Merrow Complex situated at Merrow Lane, Merrow, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ (Telephone No. 0300 200 1003) or Email: highways@surreycc.gov.uk) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Fridays; or

(c) Guildford Library, 77 North Street, Guildford on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Saturdays between 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m.; or

(d) by prior arrangement and appointment only at Guildford Borough Council’s Parking Office situated at Bedford Road Multi-storey Car Park (Level 2), Laundry Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 4PX (Telephone No. (01483) 505050 or Email: Parking@guildford.gov.uk) during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. (NOTE – The Order of 2009 and all the amending Orders and accompanying plans can only be inspected by following the arrangements described in sub-paragraph (b) above.

If you wish to object or make any other representation to the proposed Traffic Regulation Order you must send the grounds for your objection or representation (including any in support) –

(i) by using the on-line form via the web site (www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-andtransport-consultations (follow the link to Guildford Parking Permits proposal); or

(ii) in writing, to Ms L Monie at Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Merrow, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by Friday 18 April 2025 quoting reference LSEN/10644/GLD/AK/PAG.
