HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND CYCLE TRACK IN WATFORD, LEAVESDEN AND WOODSIDE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following length of cycle track (“the Cycle Track”) and roads (“the Roads”) will be:–

  1. To prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the north east, south east and north east sides of Aerodrome Way, Watford/Leavesden from its junction with Ashfields north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Hill Farm Avenue, a distance of approximately 1325m.

    Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.

  2. To prohibit all vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading on the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road, Woodside from its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 691m, when signs are in place.

  3. To prohibit all vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading on that length of A41 Gadeside, Leavesden/A41 North Western Avenue, Woodside from its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Dowding Way roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 689m, when signs are in place.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track and Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track and Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF NO.75 DEVEREUX DRIVE, WATFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the north side of No.75 Devereux Drive, Watford from its junction with Devereux Drive south westwards for a distance of approximately 15m (“the Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Devereux Drive, the footway situated on the west side of Harford Drive, the footway situated on the north side of Langley Way, the footway situated on the east side of Cassiobury Drive, Watford Borough Public Footpath No.072 and the footpath situated on the north side of No.75 Devereux Drive.

The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 April 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN BUSHEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:–

  1. that length of Bushey Hall Road, Bushey from its junction with Bendysh Road north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 160m.

    An alternative route will be via Bushey Hall Road, B462 Aldenham Road, A411 Chalk Hill, A4008 (Aldenham Road/Pinner Road), A411 (Lower High Street/Dalton Way/Waterfields Way), A4008 Stephenson Way, the Colonial Way roundabout, A4008 Stephenson Way, A411 Beechen Grove, Water Lane and Bushey Hall Road or via Bushey Hall Road, Water Lane, Lower High Street, A411 (Lower High Street/Chalk Hill), B462 Aldenham Road and Bushey Hall Road.

  2. that length of Bushey Grove Road, Bushey from its junction with Bushey Hall Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 25m.

    An alternative route will be via Bushey Hall Road, B462 Aldenham Road and Bushey Grove Road.

  3. that length of Greatham Road, Bushey from its junction with Bushey Hall Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 25m.

    An alternative route will be via Bushey Hall Road, B462 Aldenham Road, A411 Chalk Hill, A4008 (Aldenham Road/Pinner Road), A411 (Lower High Street/Dalton Way/Waterfields Way), A4008 Stephenson Way, Colonial Way, Radlett Road, Link Road, Park Avenue and Greatham Road or via Greatham Road, Park Avenue, Link Road, Radlett Road, Colonial Way, A4008 Stephenson Way, A411 Beechen Grove, Water Lane and Bushey Hall Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN DENHAM WAY/CHALFONT ROAD, MAPLE CROSS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Denham Way/Chalfont Road, Maple Cross from its junction with A412 Denham Way south westwards, westwards, north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 2559m (“the length of Roads”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A412 Denham Way, Long Lane, Shire Lane, Chalfont Lane, Burtons Lane, A404 Chalfont Station Road, B4442 Cokes Lane/Nightingales Lane) and Gorelands Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Roads whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

  1. the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A41 Otterspool Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout, Watford from its junction with A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the A41 Otterspool Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout, a distance of approximately 426m.

    An alternative route will be via A41 Otterspool Way, the A41 Otterspool Way/B462 Hartspring Lane roundabout, A41 North Western Avenue and the A41 Otterspool Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout.

    1. the southbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue, Woodside/A41 (North Western Avenue Colne Way/Otterspool Way), Watford from its junction with A41 The Dome roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the southbound slip road leading from the A41 Otterspool Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout, a distance of approximately 2392m.

    An alternative route will be via A412 St Albans Road, A411 Beechen Grove, A4008 Stephenson Way, the A41 Otterspool Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout and the southbound slip road leading from the A41 Otterspool Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of footway (“the Footways”) and road (“the Road”):–

    1. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footway:–

      a) the footway situated on the north east side of A41 Hempstead Road, Hunton Bridge from its junction with Abbots Langley Public Bridleway No.040 south eastwards to its junction with the A41 North Western Avenue/the M25 (junction 19) roundabout, a distance of approximately 57m.

      An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of A41 Hempstead Road, the footpath situated beneath the A41 North Western Avenue/the M25 (junction 19) roundabout, the footway situated on the west and east sides of A411 Hempstead Road, the footway situated on the south side of A41 North Western Avenue, the footpath situated on the north west side of North Western Avenue, the footway situated on the west side of North Western Avenue, the footway situated on the west side of Ashfields, the footway situated on the south side of Poundfield, the footway situated on the west side of Ashfield and the footway situated on the north side of A41 North Western Avenue.

To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A41 North Western Avenue, Woodside from its junction with the A41 North Western Avenue/the M25 (junction 19) roundabout south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 704m, when signs are in place.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footways and Road.

    If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footways.

    NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:–

    1. that length of Lord Street, Watford/Queens Road the Broadway, Woodside from its junction with Loates Lane south eastwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 254m.

      An alternative route will be via Loates Lane, A411 (Beechen Grove/Exchange Road/Beechen Grove), Clarendon Road, St Johns Road and Queens Road.

    2. that length of St Johns Road, Watford from its junction with Queens Road The Broadway north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 52m.

      An alternative route will be via St Johns Road, Woodford Road, Station Road, A412 St Albans Road, A411 Beechen Grove, Loates Lane and Queens Road The Broadway.

    3. that length of Loates Lane, Watford from its junction with Queens Road The Broadway south westwards to its junction with Duke Street, a distance of approximately 55m.

      There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 31 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

    NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:–

    1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of roads, whilst works are in progress:–

    a) that length of Brett Place, Watford from its northernmost junction with The Harebreaks south westwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    b) that length of The Harebreaks, Watford from its junction with Middle Way north westwards to its junction with Chestnut Walk, a distance of approximately 289m.

    An alternative route will be via Middle Way, Fuller Road and Chestnut Walk.

    c) that length of Bedford Street, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road north westwards for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    d) that length of Granville Road, Watford from its junction with The Crescent north westwards to its junction with King Street, a distance of approximately 152m.

    An alternative route will be via The Crescent, Smith Street and King Street.

    e) that length of The Crescent, Watford from its junction with Smith Street south westwards for its entire length.

    An alternative route will be via Smith Street, King Street and Granville Road.

    f) that length of Cambridge Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Exchange Road north eastwards to its junction with Granville Road, a distance of approximately 76m.

    An alternative route will be via A411 (Exchange Road/Beechen Grove), Water Lane, High Street, King Street, Smith Street, The Crescent and Granville Road.

    g) that length of Cole Road, Watford from its junction with Stamford Road north westwards for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    h) that length of Stamford Road, Watford from its junction with Langley Road north eastwards to its junction with Park Road, a distance of approximately 175m.

    An alternative route will be via Langley Road and Park Road.

    i) the northbound carriageway of Vicarage Road, Watford from its junction with Charlock Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 172m.

    An alternative route will be via Charlock Way, Tolpits Lane, A4145 (Tolpits Lane/Hagden Lane) and Vicarage Road.

    j) that length of Scammell Way, Watford from its easternmost junction with Crusader Way south eastwards to its junction with Vicarage Road, a distance of approximately 170m.

    An alternative route will be via Scammell Way, A4145 (Tolpits Lane/Hagden Lane) and Vicarage Road.

    k) that length of Vicarage Road, Watford from a point 172 metres north east of its junction with Charlock Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 172m.

    An alternative route will be via Vicarage Road, Charlock Way, Tolpits Lane, A4145 (Tolpits Lane/Hagden Lane) and Vicarage Road.

    l) that length of High Road, Leavesden from its junction with the Ashfields/Jordan Close roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Leveret Close, a distance of approximately 595m.

    An alternative route will be via High Road, A405 North Orbital Road, Horseshoe Lane and High Road.

    m) that length of Redheath Close, Watford from its junction with High Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 45m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    n) that length of Ridgehurst Avenue, Watford from its junction with High Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 29m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    o) the Greenhill Crescent/Hatters Lane roundabout, Watford from its junction with Ascot Road clockwise for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    p) that length of Greenhill Crescent, Watford from its junction with the Ascot Road/Hatters Lane roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 51m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    q) that length of Ascot Road, Watford from its junction with the Greenhill Crescent/Hatters Lane roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 76m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    r) that length of Clements Road, Chorleywood from its junction with Common Gate Road south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 92m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    s) that length of Common Gate Bottom, Chorleywood from its junction with Chorleywood Bottom south eastwards and southwards to its junction with Berry Lane, a distance of approximately 377m.

    An alternative route will be via Chorleywood Bottom, Hubbards Road, Furze View, Rendlesham Way, Stag Lane & Berry Lane.

    t) that length of A4145 Moor Lane, Moor Park from its junction with the A404 London Road roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Sandy Lodge Road, a distance of approximately 1290m.

    An alternative route will be via A404 (London Road/Church Street/Riverside Drive), A412 (Rectory Road/Park Road/Scots Hill/Watford Road/Rickmansworth Road/St Albans Road), A411 Beechen Grove/Exchange Road), A4145 Vicarage Road, A4178 (Wiggenhall Road/Farraline Road) and A4145 (Vicarage Road/Hagden Lane/Tolpits Lane/Moor Lane) or via A4145 (Moor Lane/Tolpits Lane/Hagden Lane/Vicarage Road), A4178 (Fearnley Street/The Hornets/Merton Road), A4145 Vicarage Road, A411 (Exchange Road/Beechen Grove), A412 (Rickmansworth Road/Watford Road/Scots Hill/Park Road/Rectory Road) and A404 (Riverside Drive/Church Street/London Road).

    u) the service road fronting Nos. 2–116 Moor Lane, Moor Park from its westernmost junction with A4145 Moor Lane south eastwards, north eastwards, north westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

    An alternative route will be via A4145 Moor Lane.

    v) that length of Quickmoor Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Bucks Hill south westwards to its junction with Commonwood, a distance of approximately 484m.

    An alternative route will be via Bucks Hill, Bottom Lane and Commonwood.

    w) that length of Bucks Hill, Sarratt from its junction with Buckscroft north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Sarratt Public Bridleway No.057, a distance of approximately 396m.

    An alternative route will be via Bucks Hill, The Common, The Street, Dunny Lane, Poles Hill, The Green, Dimmocks Lane, Sarratt Road, Redhall Lane, Chandlers Lane, Toms Hill and Bucks Hill.

    x) that length of Red Lion Lane, Sarratt from its junction with The Green north eastwards to its junction with Bottom Lane, a distance of approximately 308m.

    An alternative route will be via The Green, Dimmocks Lane, Deadmans Ash Lane and Bottom Lane.

    y) that length of The Green, Sarratt from its junction with Sarratt Public Footpath No.048 north westwards for a distance of approximately 280m.

    An alternative route will be via The Green, Dimmocks Lane, Sarratt Road, Redhall Lane, Chandlers Lane, Toms Hill, Bucks Hill, The Common, The Street, Dunny Lane, Poles Hill and The Green.

    z) that length of Bury Lane, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.

    An alternative route will be via Church Street, High Street, Wensum Way, Ebury Approach and Ebury Road.

    aa) that length of Ebury Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Goral Mead north eastwards to its junction with Bury Lane, a distance of approximately 140m.

    An alternative route will be via Ebury Road, Ebury Approach, Wensum Way, High Street, Church Street and Bury Lane.

    2. The existing one way traffic system on Bury Lane, Rickmansworth from its junction with Church Street south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Ebury Road, a distance of approximately 208m will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to travel in both directions within this length of road, whilst works are in progress.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

    (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN WEST HYDE AND MILL END, RICKMANSWORTH PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY NO.061 AND RICKMANSWORTH PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.012) ORDER 2025

    NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:–

    1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

    a) that length of Old Uxbridge Road, West Hyde from its junction with Rickmansworth Byway Open to All Traffic No.007 north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 475m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    b) that length of Old Uxbridge Road, West Hyde from a point 240m south west of its junction with A412 Denham Way south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 155m.

    An alternative route will be via Old Uxbridge Road, A412 Denham Way, Chalfont Lane and Old Uxbridge Road.

    c) that length of Long Lane, Mill End from its junction with Rickmansworth Public Bridleway No.010 south eastwards to its junction with Uxbridge Road, a distance of approximately 626m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    2. To prohibit all pedestrians, pedal cycles and equestrian users from using Rickmansworth Public Bridleway No.061 from its junction with Long Lane north westwards to its junction with Rickmansworth Public Bridleway No.010, a distance of approximately 283m (“the Public Bridleway”).

    There is no alternative route available for pedestrians, pedal cycles and equestrian users when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian, pedal cycle and equestrian user access to properties along this Public Bridleway will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    3. To prohibit all pedestrians from using Rickmansworth Public Footpath No.012 from its junction with Long Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 59m (“the Public Footpath”).

    There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this Public Footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads, Public Bridleway and Public Footpath.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 March 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads, Public Bridleway and Public Footpath.

    (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MARLBOROUGH ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025

    NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the westbound carriageway of Marlborough Road, Watford from its junction with Francis Road north westwards and south westwards to its junction with A4178 Cassio Road, a distance of approximately 61m (“the Road”), except for access.

    An alternative route will be via Marlborough Road, A411 Exchange Road, Upton Road and A4178 Cassio Road.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
