Cumberland, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Maintenance Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.3) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Any queries should be made to the Highways Hotline 0300 373 3736 or via the Cumberland Council website. The references to quote are detailed in the schedule. Details of road restrictions can also be found by using the one line platform known as one.network.

The Order will come into operation on 7 April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, it is anticipated that the Works will be carried out within a 3 month period from 7 April 2025 and the roads will only be closed when the Works are being carried out and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5307 Kirkbampton, Angerton, Newton Arlosh, B5302 Abbeytown, A596, Wigton, A595 Thursby and A689.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5307 Moorhouse Road, Newtown Road, Port Road, Caldcotes, A595 Wigton Road and the A689.

3. C1007 Cliff Road, near Longtown (Ref: TTROC/14070)

From its junction with the A6071, extending in a south westerly direction for approx 1.9km.

Alternative Route: via the A6071, Albert Street, Longtown and the A7.

4. C1011 Barclose (Ref: TTROC/14072)

From its junction with the A689, extending in a north easterly direction for approx 4.5km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1011, A6071 Smithfield, C1009, A7 Blackford, Harker and the A689.
