Stoke Interchange Guildford - Temporary Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?
A3 TRUNK ROAD (STOKE INTERCHANGE GUILDFORD) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A3 Trunk Road in the County of Surrey, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on and in the vicinity of the road by contractors working on behalf of UKPN
The effect of the Order is to authorise the phased ban overnight from turning either left or right alternately from the end of the road leading from the westbound carriageway of the A3 into the A320 at Stoke Interchange (A320), and/or alternatively the entire overnight closure of said slip road.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake cable ducting installation works.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 2 weeks starting on or after Thursday 3rd April 2025.
The overnight closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 Mondays to Thursdays, 20:00 and 08:00 Fridays, and 19:00 and 08:00 Saturdays (Maximum periods).
The Order will come into force on 1st April 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
Traffic affected by the right turn ban will be diverted southbound onto the A320 then westbound on the A25 to Dennis Roundabout (A322) and return. Traffic affected by the left turn ban closure will be diverted northbound onto the A320, circumnavigate the miniroundabout 100 metres north and return. In the event of the whole slip being closed, traffic will be diverted westbound on the A3 to University Interchange and return.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
