What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make  the following Orders.

 

SWALE AREA

 

A299 Thanet Way, Graveney (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A299 Thanet Way, Graveney, from 1st April 2025, with estimated completion by 9th April 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.

The slip roads will be closed Coastbound and Londonbound, in the vicinity of Brenley Corner, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via M2 J7-J6, M2 J6, A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6-J7, M2 J7 and A2 Brenley Corner Roundabout.

 

Cellar Hill, Lynsted. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cellar Hill, Lynsted, from 14th April 2025, with estimated completion by 15th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Cambridge Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cellar Hill, Cambridge Lane, Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Clockhouse Lane, Boughton Under Blean, ME13 9LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow rail works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Clockhouse Lane, Boughton Under Blean, from 20th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 10m either side of Clockhouse level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brenley Lane, Selling Road, Clockhouse Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lower Road, Buckland. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Road, Buckland, from 20th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 16:00 and 22:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side of Stone Level Crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, Lower Norton Lane, A2 London Road, B2045 Western Link, Bysing Wood Road, Luddenham Hill, Bysing Wood Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Otterham Quay Lane, Upchurch, ME8 7XD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Otterham Quay Lane, Upchurch, from 2nd April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Wallbridge Lane and Lower Rainham Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Horsham Lane, The Street, Forge Lane, Halstow Lane, The Street, Breach Lane, A2 Hartlip Hill, London Road, Moor Street, Otterham Quay Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Plough Road, Eastchurch, ME12 4JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Plough Road, Eastchurch, from 15th April 2025, with estimated completion by 17th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 2 Trouts Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Plough Road, B2008 Chequers Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, A2500 Lower Road, High Street, Warden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Staplestreet Road, Dunkirk, ME13 9TL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Staplestreet Road, Dunkirk, from 3rd April 2025, with estimated completion by 4th April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Dawes Road and The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Staple Street, Butts Hill, Bull Lane, The Street, Staplestreet Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Station Road, Teynham, ME9 9SX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road, Teynham, from 14th April 2025, with estimated completion by 15th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Belle Friday Close and Honeyball Walk, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, A2 London Road, Hempstead Lane, Lower Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Upper St Anns Road, Faversham, ME13 8QP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Upper St Anns Road, Faversham, from 20th April 2025, with estimated completion by 21st April 2025, between the hours of 00:30 and 04:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Athelstan Road and the railway line, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Vellum Drive, Sittingbourne, ME10 5BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Vellum Drive, Sittingbourne, from 16th April 2025, with estimated completion by 17th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the roundabout and the junction with Bristol Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
