What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make  the following Orders.

 

SEVENOAKS AREA

 

B2026 Hosey Common Road, Westerham, TN16 1PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of Openreach pole replacement, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2026 Hosey Common Road, Westerham, on or after 17th April 2025 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Hosey Common Lane and West Cottage.

The alternative route is via B2026 Hosey Common Road/Hosey Hill/Quebec Square, A25 Vicarage Hill/Market Square/High Street/Westerham Road, B269 Kent Hatch Road and vice versa.

 

Bradbourne Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 3QA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of SGN works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bradbourne Road, Sevenoaks, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 49.

The alternative route is via Amherst Road, St Johns Road, A225 St Johns Hill, Bradbourne Road and vice versa.

 

Brands Hatch, Sevenoaks (TRAFFIC RESRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

For the safety of the public whilst events are being held at Brands Hatch, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to restrict traffic on various roads in the Brands Hatch area, as defined below.

Restriction: 30mph Speed Limit in both directions from 06.00 – 20.00 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown
Extent: Between the end of the existing 40mph limit London Road, Farningham and Twenty Mile Texaco Petrol Station, West Kingsdown
Dates: 20th April, 4th May, 11th May, 7th & 8th June, 26th & 27th July, 10th August, 29th September, 5th October, 18th & 19th October, 2nd November 2025

Restriction: 30mph Speed Limit in both directions from 06.00 – 20.00 hours
Road Name: Scratchers Lane & Fawkham Road
Extent: Scratchers Lane – whole length
Fawkham Road - from junction with Scratchers Lane to 100m North of Warland Road (start of 30mph speed limit) in both directions
Dates: 20th April, 4th May, 11th May, 7th & 8th June, 26th & 27th July, 10th August, 29th September, 5th October, 18th & 19th October, 2nd November 2025

Restriction: Suspend Cycle Lane Order from 06.00 – 20.00 hours.
Road Name: A20 London Road/Gorse Hill, West Kingsdown.
Extent 1: Between Eynsford Road, Farningham and Twenty Mile Texaco Petrol Station, West Kingsdown.
Diversion: Cyclists should dismount and walk along the pavement for the length of the restriction.
Dates: 20th April, 4th May, 11th May, 7th & 8th June, 26th & 27th July, 10th August, 29th September, 5th October, 18th & 19th October, 2nd November 2025

Extent 2: Southbound 50 metres either side of Fawkham Road
Dates: 4th May, 11th May, 26th & 27th July, 10th August, 5th October, 18th & 19th October, 2nd November 2025

Restriction: No Right Turn from 06.00hrs - 20.00hrs
1: Into Scratchers Lane northbound from A20 London Road/Gorse Hill
Diversion: Traffic to use Portobello junction and Fawkham Road for access
Dates: 20th April, 4th May, 11th May, 7th & 8th June, 26th & 27th July, 10th August, 29th September, 5th October, 18th & 19th October, 2nd November 2025

2: From Fawkham Road into A20 London Road
Dates: 4th May, 11th May, 26th & 27th July, 5th October, 18th & 19th October, 2nd November 2025

Restriction:  Road Closure: Donkey Lane
Extent: Entire Length
Diversion:  Maplescombe Lane, Botsom Lane, A20 London Road, A20 Gorse Hill and vice versa.
Dates: 11th May, 26th & 27th July, 5th October, 18th & 19th October, 2nd November 2025

 

Bunkers Hill Road, Rectory Road & Ridley Hill, Ash, TN15 7EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of pole testing and tree cutting, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bunkers Hill Road, Rectory Road and Ridley Hill, Ash, on or after 1st April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

Bunkers Hill Road will be closed between Rectory Road and Oak tree Cottage.

Rectory Road will be closed between Bunkers Hill Road and Ridley Court Farm.

Ridley Hill will be closed between Bunkers Hill Road and The Old Rectory.

The alternative route for Bunkers Hill Road is via New Street Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for Rectory Road and Ridley Hill is via New Street Road, Idleigh Court Road, Hartley Bottom Road, Ridley Hill and vice versa.

 

Church Road, Sundridge, TN14 6DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of Thames Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, Sundridge, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Chapman Road and Manorfield.

The alternative route is via Church Road, New Road, A25 Main Road and vice versa.

 

Cotmans Ash Lane, Kemsing, TN15 6XB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of tree surgery works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cotmans Ash Lane, Kemsing, on or after 1st April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Rising Sun.

The alternative route is via Pilgrims Way, Row Dow, Birchin Cross Road, Clarkes Green Lane and vice versa.

 

Granville Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 1EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of repairs to a sewer pipe, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Granville Road, Sevenoaks, on or after 5th April 2025 for up to 17 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 8.

The alternative route is via Gordon Road, Argyle Road and vice versa.

 

Magpie Bottom, Knatts Valley, TN15 6XQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of Openreach overhead cable and pole testing works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Magpie Bottom, Knatts Valley, on or after 16th April 2025 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Birchin Cross Road and Bracken.

The alternative route is via Row Dow Lane, Birchin Cross Road and vice versa.

 

Manor Lane, Hartley, DA3 8AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of a new electricity supply, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Manor Lane, Hartley, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Manor Drive.

There is no alternative route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.

 

Moat Lane, Chiddingstone Hoath & Cowden, TN8 7DW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of pole testing, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Moat Lane, Chiddingstone Hoath & Cowden, on or after 2nd April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Top Hill and Bassetts Old Barn.

The alternative route is via Finch Green, Truggers Lane To Grove Road, Cowden Pound Road To Truggers Lane, Buckhurst Lane, Station Road, Blowers Hill and vice versa.

 

Noahs Ark, Kemsing, TN15 6PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of a new gas service, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Noahs Ark, Kemsing, on or after 6th April 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 14.

The alternative route is via Noahs Ark, Church Street, A25 High Street, School Lane, Childsbridge Lane, West End, St Ediths Road and vice versa.

 

School Lane, Seal, TN15 0BF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of School Lane, Seal, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 1 night between 19.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside the former Scout Hut.

The alternative route is via A25 High Street/Seal Road, A225 Otford Road/Sevenoaks Road/Station Road, Pilgrims Way East, Pilgrims Way, Chiddingstone Lane and vice versa.

 

School Lane, Swanley, BR8 7PJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of Thames Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of School Lane, Swanley, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Old Vicarage.

The alternative route is via Lower Road, Home Hill, B258 Main Road, Highlands Hill, School Lane and vice versa.

 

Scollops, Ide Hill, TN14 6JZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of a BT service to a customer, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Scollops, Ide Hill, on or after 31st March 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with B2042 Ide Hill Road.

The alternative route is via Scollops, Yorks Hill, Gracious Lane, B2042 Wheatsheaf Hill/Ide Hill Road and vice versa.

 

Valley Road, Fawkham, DA3 8NL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Valley Road, Fawkham, on or after 14th April 2025 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 14.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Montana House and Fawkham C Of E Primary School.

The alternative route is via Fawkham Road, B260 Main Road, Hartley Road, Ash Road, Chapel Wood Road, Ash Road, The Street, South Ash Lane, A20 London Road, Fawkham Road, Brands Hatch Road and vice versa.
