Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A28 Templer Way & Simone Weil Avenue. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow the Highways & Transportation High Speed Road Programme to take place, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic, in phases, on part of A28 Templer Way and Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford.
This order takes effect on or after 1st April 2025, with estimated completion by 1st December 2025, or where stated on valid permits. The closures will be carried out between the hours of 19:00 and 07:00 only. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works on One.Network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.
A28 Templer Way, Ashford
The road will be closed between the Drovers Roundabout and the Tank Roundabout, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for Northbound traffic is via Great Chart Bypass, B2229 Brookfield Road, Leacon Road, Victoria Road, A2042 Beaver Road, Station Road, Wellesley Road, A292 Somerset Road, New Street, Chart Road, Maidstone Road and Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout.
The alternative route for Southbound traffic is via Maidstone Road South of Simone Weil Roundabout, A292 Maidstone Road, New Street, Somerset Road, Wellesley Road, Station Road, A2042 Beaver Road, Victoria Road, Leacon Road, B2229 Brookfield Road and Great Chart Bypass.
A28 Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford
The road will be closed between the Drovers Roundabout and the junction with A28 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for Eastbound traffic is via A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road, New Street, Magazine Road and A2042 Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for Westbound traffic is via A2042 Canterbury Road, Magazine Road, New Street, Chart Road and A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout.
B2067 Knoll Hill, Aldington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2067 Knoll Hill, Aldington, from 31st March 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Boat Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2067 Knoll Hill, Boat Lane, New Road, Forge Hill, Roman Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ashford Road, Bilsington, TN25 7JY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ashford Road, Bilsington, from 15th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with B2067 Bonnington Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashford Road, Frith Road, Roman Road, Forge Hill, New Road Hill, Boat Lane, B2067 Bonnington Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Blind Lane, Mersham, TN25 7HA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Blind Lane, Mersham, from 2nd April 2025, with estimated completion by 4th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Conscience Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Blind Lane, Church Road, Bower Road, The Street, Kingsford Street and Kingsford Close.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Chequer Tree Farm Road, Mersham, TN25 7HN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chequer Tree Farm Road, Mersham, from 31st March 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Frith Road and Colliers Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Frith Road, Ashford Road and Chequer Tree Farm Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Road, Warehorne, TN26 2LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Warehorne, from 18th April 2025, with estimated completion by 21st April 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Bridge Farm and Brackenlea, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, B2067 Kenardington Road, Appledore Road, Church Road, Snargate Road, Hogg Lane, Arrowhead Lane, Snargate Road and Church Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Coopers Lane, Smeeth. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Coopers Lane, Smeeth, from 4th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed next to the junction with A20 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stone Hill, A20 Main Road, A20 Hythe Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Giggers Green Road, Aldington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Giggers Green Road, Aldington, from 14th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the properties Goldenhurst Cottage and The Old Dairy, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Road from Newchurch to Newchurch Town Boundary, The Street, From Newchurch To Newchurch Road Jnc Honeywood Lane, Newchurch Road, B2067 Bonnington Road, B2067 Knoll Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hart Hill, Charing. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hart Hill, Charing, from 2nd April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of A20 Maidstone Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hart Hill, Bowl Road, A252 Charing Hill, A20 Maidstone Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
High Street, Charing, TN27 0JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Charing, from 15th April 2025, with estimated completion by 24th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 89, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Hill, A252 Charing Hill, A20 Maidstone Road and High Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Kingsland Lane, Westwell. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kingsland Lane, Westwell, from 2nd April 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Westwell Lane and Kingsland Barn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westwell Lane, The Street and Eastwell Lane, Kingsland Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Oxenturn Road, Wye, TN25 5BB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Oxenturn Road, Wye, from 18th April 2025, with estimated completion by 21st April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Chequers Park, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Oxenturn Road, Upper Bridge Street, Scotton Street, Amage Road, The Street, Spelders Hill, Naccolt Road and Oxenturn Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Pilgrims Way, Brabourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Brabourne, from 2nd April 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lamplands, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, Scots Lane, Whiteways, B2068 Stone Street, Dean Hill, Dean Bottom, From Dean Bottom To District Boundary, The Street, New Barn Road, New Barn Hill and Pilgrims Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Pluckley Road, Little Chart. (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 40 mph speed restriction on part of Pluckley Road, Little Chart, from 4th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary speed restriction will be imposed between Chart Court Stables and Chart Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Poplar Road, Wittersham, TN30 7PD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow underground cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Poplar Road, Wittersham, from 14th April 2025, with estimated completion by 16th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Swan Cottages and Forge Meads, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2082 Poplar Road, Stocks Road, A268 Rye Road, Wittersham Road, Iden Road, Main Street, Grove Lane, Flackley Ash, Barnets Hill, Two Hovens, Peasmarsh Road, Whitebread Lane, Stoddards Lane, A28 Station Road, Hastings Road, High Street, Tenterden Road, Rolvenden Hill, Rolvenden Road, B2082 Smallhythe Road and Peening Quarter Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Quarrington Lane, Brabourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Quarrington Lane, Brabourne, from 14th April 2025, with estimated completion by 15th April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Plumpton, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Plumpton, Bockham Lane and Quarrington Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sir John Fogge Avenue, Ashford. (PROHIBITION OF RIGHT/LEFT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow traffic signal repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic, in phases, on part of Sir John Fogge Avenue, Ashford from turning right/left onto A20 Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout. The restrictions are in place from 16th April 2025, for up to one night, between the hours of 20:00 and 23:30, or until the works have been completed.
Phase 1
Vehicles are probihited from turning right from Sir John Fogge Avenue onto A20 Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A20 Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout.
Phase 2
Vehicles are probihited from turning left from Sir John Fogge Avenue onto A20 Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A20 Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout and A20 Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout.
Stone Cross Road, Bilsington, TN25 7JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stone Cross Road, Bilsington, from 18th April 2025, with estimated completion by 21st April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the entrance to Goldenwood Kennels and the junction with Stalisfield, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stone Cross Road, Capel Road, Hamstreet Road, Ashford Road, B2067 The Street, Cock Lane, Ruckinge Road, Hamstreet Road, Ashford Road and Stone Cross Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Ridgeway, Smeeth, TN25 6SW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Ridgeway, Smeeth, from 17th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed next to the junction with A20 Hythe Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Ridgeway, Church Road, A20 Hythe Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Chilham, CT4 8EJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2025
To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Chilham, from 31st March 2025, with estimated completion by 25th April 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Chilham Post Office and Clements Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hambrook Lane, School Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Twelve Acres, Willesborough, TN24 0ET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Twelve Acres, Willesborough, from 2nd April 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 46 and 34, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Summer Leeze, Breadlands Road and Twelve Acres.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
White Hill, Boughton Aluph, TN25 4HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of White Hill, Boughton Aluph, from 14th April 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with A28 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Ashford Road, A252 Maidstone Road, A252 The Street, A252 Canterbury Road and A251 Buck Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wissenden Lane, Bethersden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wissenden Lane, Bethersden, from 4th April 2025, with estimated completion by 7th April 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed North West of the junction with Norton Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wissenden Lane, Romden Road, Pluckley Road, Chambers Green Road, Pluckley Road, Mill Road, The Street, Church Hill and Wissenden Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
