THE DOVER DISTRICT COUNCIL

 (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2020 AMENDMENT NO.1

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that DOVER DISTRICT COUNCIL under sections 1(1), 2 (1) to (3), 3 (2), 4 (1) and (2), 32 (1), 35 (1), 44, 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following order:-

     1.   To delete and replace Schedule 6 to include The Roman Painted House, New Street, Dover.

     2.   To introduce charging to Albany Place Car Park to the table at Schedule 2 Surface Car Parks Where Charges Are Imposed.

     3.   To amend Schedule 1, (f)(1) 27, to update the mechanism for Tides Car Park, Deal.

     4.   To amend Schedule 2 to include Tides Car Park, Deal

     5.   To amend Schedule 1 (f)(1) 11, to update the opening hours of Kearsney Abbey Main Car Park

     6.   To delete and replace Schedule 9, to update the permits throughout the district of Dover.

     7.   To vary Article 24 to alter the number of Visitors Parking Permits to 6 books, of 10 permits, per annum.

     8.   To add a new Schedule 15, to introduce charging for Hotelier Parking Tickets.

     9.   To amend Article 27 to include an admin charge and a processing fee for refunds of permits.

     10. To introduce a new map to the Order for the Roman Painted House, New Street, Dover.

A full statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, a plan indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the proposed Order may be examined at Council Offices, Dover District Council, White cliffs Business park, Whitfield, Dover Kent CT16 3PJ or viewed online at www.dover.gov.uk/parking

Representations supporting or objecting to the proposed Order (your objection must explain the impact on traffic in the locality to be valid) can be made via our website using the above link or alternatively you can write to Clare Connellan, Transport and Parking Services Manager Council Offices, Dover District Council, White Cliffs Business Park, Whitfield, Dover, Kent CT16 3PJ by 12 noon 17th April 2025.
