Various Roads, Filwood Broadway Area, Prohibition And Restriction Of Waiting, Loading Places, Disabled Persons’ Parking Places, Electric Vehicle Parking Places And Prohibition Of Driving – Traffic Orders
The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE it proposes to make the following traffic orders:-
A. CAE/RGW/P-1313A – the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Citywide, City of Bristol) (Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Loading Places) (Bus Parking Places) (Disabled Persons’ Parking Places) (Electric Vehicle Parking Places) Order 202-, the effect of which would be:-
1. to introduce Mon-Sat 8am-6pm disabled persons’ parking places in Filwood Broadway with a maximum stay of 3 hours and an interval before which vehicles can be left again of 1 hour;
2. introduce an electric vehicle parking place on the north side of Hartcliffe Road, east of Filwood Broadway, to be used free of charge by electric vehicles that are being recharged with a maximum stay of 2 hours and an interval before which vehicles can be left again of 1 hour;
3. to introduce Mon-Sat 8am-6pm loading places in Filwood Broadway, Hartcliffe Road and Marwood Road;
4. to introduce prohibition of waiting arrangements for vehicles in Barnstaple Road, Filwood Broadway, Hartcliffe Road, Kinvara Road and Marwood Road;
5. to introduce restriction of waiting arrangements for vehicles in Filwood Broadway and Marwood Road;
6. to revise prohibition of waiting arrangements for vehicles in Creswicke Road;
7. to introduce prohibition of loading/unloading arrangements for vehicles in Barnstaple Road, Creswicke Road, Filwood Broadway, Hartcliffe Road and Marwood Road; and
8. to bring forward unchanged all other provisions currently regulated by the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Citywide, City of Bristol) (Prohibition of Stopping Outside Schools) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Loading Places) (Bus Parking Places) Order 2021, which would be revoked.
B. CAE/RGW/P-1313B – the City Council of Bristol (Barnstaple Road, Filwood Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 202-, the effect of which would be to introduce prohibition of driving on Barnstaple Road between Kinvara Road and Marwood Road. Exemption would be provided for pedal cycles.

Further details of all the proposals are contained in the draft orders, which together with plans, a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the orders and a copy of the orders to be revoked may be inspected (in paper and digital format) at the Citizen Service Point, 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The draft orders, plans and Statement of Reasons are also available to view on the City Council website at www.bristol.gov.uk/trafficorders.
How to object Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to TRO Comments at the undermentioned address or by e-mail to tro.comments@bristol.gov.uk quoting reference the relevant reference number by 11th April 2025.
