NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Cross Street Hindley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Cross Street Hindley for a period of one day on 05/08/2025 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
The alternative route for traffic is: Wigan Road and Market Street.
The Order is necessary to allow the replacement of a frame and cover.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment
No.604) Order 2025
The effect of the Order will be to introduce prohibited waiting at any time on:
• Long Lane Hindley Green – both sides from its junction with Crossdale Road to a point 10 metres north of its junction with Crossdale Road.
• Crossdale Road Hindley Green – north side from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Long Lane to a point 8 metres west of its junction with Long Lane. The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading/unloading at all times on:
• Long Lane Hindley Green – both sides from its junction with Crossdale Road to a point 10 metres north of its junction with Crossdale Road.
• Crossdale Road Hindley Green – north side from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Long Lane to a point 8 metres west of its junction with Long Lane. There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait for the purpose of road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances,
The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.
A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing d.rumsey@wigan.gov.uk.
Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the A ssistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan or by emailing the above email address quoting reference RD/LS/DC/2152242 not later than 24/04/2025.
(Rectory Lane Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Rectory Lane Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Rectory Lane Standish, commencing on 19/07/2025 to 10/08/2025.
The alternative route for traffic is: Market Street, High Street, Wigan Road and Chorley Road.
The Order is necessary to allow an upgrade sewer connection for a new housing development.
(Pepper Lane Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Pepper Lane Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Pepper Lane Standish on 01/06/2025 for one day only between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00.
The alternative route for traffic is: Preston Road, School Lane, Almond Brook Road, Shevington Lane, Crow Orchard Road and Mossy Lea Road The Order is necessary for the replacement of a frame and cover.
(Winstanley Road Ashton in Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Winstanley Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Winstanley Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield during the period of 09:30 to 15:30 on 21/05/2025 only. The alternative route for traffic is: Billinge Road, Newton Road, Main Street, Wigan Road and Ashton Road.
The Order is necessary to allow a telegraph pole replacement.
(Devon Drive, Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Devon Drive, Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Devon Drive, Standish from 28th April 2025 to 09th May 2025
The alternative route for traffic is: Chorley Road
The Order is necessary to allow a Gas Mains Replacement
