What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(A684 SEDBERGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge repair works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the A684 Sedbergh, from a point approx. 400m north east of its junction with the B6257, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 70m.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available as follows;

HGV Suitable Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of A684, M6, A65 and A683.

Non- HGV Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of A684, B6256 and A683.

The Order will come into operation on 7th April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 weeks, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
