What is happening?
The Surrey County Council
Bowerland Lane (D408) Lingfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bowerland Lane (D408) Lingfield as extends from its junction with Crowhurst Road (D403) in a eastwards direction for a distance of 80 metres (outside the property known as “Woodruff”).
Alternative route – Crowhurst Road and Haxted Road, or this route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow Openreach to facilitate pole testing and all associated works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day during the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
C136 High Road, Chipstead and Upper Gatton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and Part IV to Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:
– 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C136 High Road, Chipstead and Upper Gatton that extends from its junction with C139 White Hill, to its junction with D1163 Babylon Lane.
2. Revoke part b) to the Schedule to “Various Roads in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2023”.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out highway patching and/or dressing and/or surfacing and/or improvement and/or maintenance works.
These works are anticipated to be carried out within 3 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 15 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Access for residents and businesses will be maintained via the vehicular diversion route: – From south of closure – C137 Blackhorse Lane, A217 Brighton Road southbound, about turn at A217 Reigate Hill Roundabout, A217 Brighton Road northbound, C139 Chipstead Lane and C139 White Hill. From north of closure – C139 White Hill, C139 Chipstead Lane, A217 Brighton Road southbound and C137 Blackhorse Lane.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
How Lane (D1080) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in that length of How Lane (D1080) Chipstead as extends from its junction with (D1079) Bouverie Road and for a distance of 85 metres in a northerly direction.
Alternative Route: How Lane, (B2032) Outwood Lane, Hazelwood Lane, High Road, and How Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate construction works for, or on behalf of Monson Engineering Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 12 days, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 14 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Rectory Lane (D323) Charlwood Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Rectory Lane (D323) Charlwood.
Alternative Route: Russ Hill, Charlwood Lane, Partridge Lane, Blanks Lane, Stan Hill, and Norwood Hill Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate essential water utility works for, or on behalf of SES Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 14 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Rushetts Road (D1295) Reigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Management Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of;
(a) Rushetts Road (D1295) Reigate as extends from its junction with (D334) Lonesome Lane to its junction with (D1295) Nuthatch Gardens;
(b) prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of Rushetts Road (D1295) Reigate as extends from its junction with (D334) Lonesome Lane to its junction with (D1295) Nuthatch Gardens. Alternative Route: Lonesome Lane, Lynn Walk, Potters Way, New Causeway, Tilers Way, and Rushetts Road, or this route in reverse.
This Temporary Order is required to allow delivery of portacabins to Dovers Green School for, on behalf of Blade Traffic Management.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 15 April 2025.
This temporary closure and restriction will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs.
For sub-paragraph (a) above: Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, all other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
For sub-paragraphs (b) above: Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
D1262 Canalside, Redhill and D1029 Coxdean, Epsom Downs Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.
Schedule
1. the entire length of D1262 Canalside, Redhill. Alternative Route – D1262 Holmesdale Avenue, C67 Nutfield Road, C225 Battlebridge Lane (13’0” bridge height restriction), C224 Ormside Way and D1262 Trowers Way;
2. the entire length of D1029 Coxdean, Epsom Downs. Alternative Route – D1028 Chapel Way, D1032 St Leonards Road, D1030 Chetwode Road, D1029 Broad Walk and D1029 Long Walk.
Various in Mole Valley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:-
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice; and
(b) revoke part (e) of the Schedule to “Surrey County Council Various Roads in Mole Valley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2023” as relates to the prohibition of vehicular traffic in A217 Reigate Road, Hookwood between Brighton Road and Reigate Road.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate high friction surfacing works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 April 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.
Schedule
1. that length of B2038 Pixham Lane, Dorking which extends from its junction with A25 Reigate Road to the property boundary line between No.6-8 Downsvale Nursing Home and No.10. Alternative Route – A25 Reigate Road, A24 Deepdene Avenue, A24 London Road and B2038 Pixham Lane;
2. the entire length of D309 Coach Road, Brockham (that length of which is maintainable at the public expense). Alternative Route – A25 Reigate Road.
