What is happening?

READING BOROUGH COUNCIL

(SEND ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the permanent parking bays on Send Road from the side of Send Road to the entrance of Reading Side.

The Order will come into force in 2 phases from 24-28 March and 1-6 May 2025 when the relevant traffic signs are displayed on site. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety.

(VACHELL ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close the end of Vachell Road and suspend the parking bays outside and adjacent to 40/7 Cavesson Road. The Order will come into force from 1 April 2025 to 31 October 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the order will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety.

(SCHOOL RD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays from 52-54 School Rd. The Order will come into force from 1-3 April 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to allow the installation of new road markings.

(SOUTH VIEW AVENUE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close South View Avenue between its junction with Erleigh Road and the entrance to numbers 84-86 South View Avenue. The Order will come into force from 24 March-1 April 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety.

(PARKSIDE ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close Parkside Road and suspend the parking bays on its junction.

The Order will come into force from 24 March-10 June 2025. The provisions of the Order shall only apply when the relevant signs, which will indicate the extent of the restrictions, are displayed. The Order will only be in force when needed to deal with the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the road. The Order is necessary for gas main works.

(STATION ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close Station Road between its junction with Garrard Street. The Order will be in force intermittently from 12pm 26 March 2025 to 5pm 27 March 2025.

The Order will only be in force when needed to deal with the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the road. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety.

(OXFORD ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close Oxford Road within its box junction between Aldi and Natwest.

The Order will be in force from 25-27 March 2025. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months. The Order is necessary to repair a water main in the carriageway. A signed diversion route will be in place.

(BEECHAM RD/ DOUGLAS RD/LIVERPOOL RD/NEW RD, OXFORD ST/

PALMER PARK AVENUE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to suspend all parking restrictions and lengthen restrictions at No Waiting No Loading or Unloading points outside the following addresses:

  • 113-119 Beecham Rd 9-17 Douglas Rd, 313-121 Liverpool Rd, 8-12 New Rd, 14A-5 Oxford St, 29-34 Palmer Park Avenue and 2-4 Norfolk Road.

The Order will come into force from 31 March 2025 for 3 days. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to allow the installation of EV charging equipment.

(LONDON ST) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily:

  • Suspend the parking bays from outside numbers 86-06 London St.
  • Close the lane, northbound along London St.

The Order will come into force from 8-21 April 2025. Should the works take longer than expected, the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate the installation of new assets.
