What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY
(BRIDGE STREET/LOW STREET, RAMSBOTTOM)
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-
- Bridge Street (Low St to Ramsbottom Lane)
- Low Street (Bridge St to Paradise St) Ramsbottom
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate underground telecoms works.
The alternative route will be:-
- via Bridge Street, Peel Brow, Bury New Road, Manchester Road, Walmersley Road, Peel Way, Crostons Road, Brandlesholme Road, Longsight Road, Bolton Road West & Bolton Street & vice-versa
- No alternative route
The Order will come into operation on Monday 24 March 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration is 2 days (night time works - 21:00hrs to 06:00hrs)

(BUTTERWORTH STREET, DERBYSHIRE STREET, HOLLAND STREET, RADCLIFFE, CECIL STREET, BURY, GARNETT STREET, QUEEN STREET, RAMSBOTTOM)
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-
- Butterworth Street, Radcliffe
- Derbyshire Street, Radcliffe
- Holland Street, Radcliffe
- Cecil Street, Bury
- Garnett Street, Ramsbottom
- Queen Street, Ramsbottom
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.
Alternative routes:
3) via Park Street, Cross Lane & Withins Street & vice-versa
6) via Garnett Street, Bolton Street & Buchanan Street & vice-versa
The proposed Order will come into operation on Tuesday 01 April 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is up to 5 weeks at each location.
