Transport for London PUBLIC NOTICE:

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A1205 GLA ROAD (BURDETT ROAD, LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND STOPPING) ORDER 2025

Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above-named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

The purpose of the Order is to enable highway lining and signage works to take place on the A1205 GLA Road – Burdett Road in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, exiting, or stopping on Burdett Road between its junctions with East India Dock Road and Mile End Road. The Order will also permit all vehicles to use the bus lanes on Burdett Road between its junctions with East India Dock Road and Mile End Road. Works will be phased such that some restrictions will apply only at certain times. The Order will be effective at certain times from 12:01 AM on 28th March 2025 until 5:00 AM on 5th September 2025 or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

The prohibitions will not apply in respect of any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes. They will also not apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

At such times as the prohibitions are in force, alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs.
