Dorset, Temporary Road Closures Due To Maintenance & Utility Works
What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Cards Mill Lane, Whitchurch Canonicorum
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CARDS MILL LANE, WHITCHURCH CANONICORUM, between its junction with Taphouse Lane and Berheayes Farm, a distance of approximately 3425 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 0930 and 1530 on 21 March 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 March 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of C29, Evershot
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along C29, EVERSHOT between Evershot Memorial Hall and a point approximately 575 metres west. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17 April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14 April 2025.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, as set forces to carry out 6 inch pipe installation.
An alternative vehicle route will be signed using; Horsey Knapp - Benville Lane - A356 - A37.
