TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –      

PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING      

         
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict
the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated
below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the
discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the
said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the
necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted
horse riders unless stated below.  The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as
stated below.         
         
The Order/s came into force on 24th March 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of
eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works
are completed, whichever is earlier.  However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative
for the duration as stated below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4385 between Hopton Heath and Twitchen
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Short Comm pipe Cut Off
Alternative Route : B4367, A4113, A488, B4368


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5009, Whittington
Date & Duration: 29th March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water Connection
Alternative Route : A495, A5, B5009


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Green Lane, Whixall
Date & Duration: 27th March 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Road closure required to maintain safe working zone for
engineer to access pole for testing and tree cutting.
Alternative Route : Rack Lane, Post Office Lane, Gilberts Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Harriots Hayes Lane, Codsall Wood
Date & Duration: 26th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure -Severn Trent Water-Hydrant Rebuild chamber, Boundary box Install
Alternative Route : A41, Cordy Lane, Donington Lane, Renshaw Wood Lane, Whitehouse Lane



Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Haywood Lane, Cheswardine
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 5 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - New supply
Alternative Route : A529, Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road North East, Haywood Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Newton on the Hill, Harmer Hill
Date & Duration: 27th March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Overhead cabling required
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East towards Alderton, B5476, The Hollow, A528


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Oldfield Lane, between B4364 and Middleton Scriven
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Alternative Route : B4364, Millfields Way, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North, Unnamed road North East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A464 Priorslee Road, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 25th March 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs to include kerbing, sign posts and iron works.
Alternative Route : B4379, A5, A4640


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A41, Sandford
Date & Duration: 28th March 2025 for 1 day 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Installation of cattle crossing sign equipment to previously installed poles.
Alternative Route : A41, A53, A49, A41.


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cheshire Street, Market Drayton
Date & Duration: 27th March 2025 for 2 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Frogmore Road, Smithfield Road, Longlands Lane, Stafford Street, High Street


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Derrington Road, Ditton Priors
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge repairs
Alternative Route : Derrington road, Unnamed road North East towards Monkhopton, B4368, A458, B4364, Oakwood Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using St Johns Street, Whitchurch
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 2 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Brownlow Street, London Road, Bargates, Church Street, St Marys Street


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Sandpits Road, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 30th March 2025 for 1 day and 6th April 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Cadent - Remedial works
Alternative Route : Henley Road, Gravel Hill, St Julians Avenue, Livesey Road, Sandpits Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Shrewsbury Road, Cockshutt
Date & Duration: 30th March 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace manhole frame and cover
Alternative Route : A528, A495, A525, A41, A49, A5124, A528



Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between A4117 and Hopton Wafers
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Boundary box Install
Alternative Route : A4117, Unnamed road North East through Hill Houses, Unnamed road South East and South West towards Hopton Wafers


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Broad lanes and Tuck hill
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-New water connection
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East, A458, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Greete and Caynham
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Boundary box Install
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East through Greete towards Burford, A456, Bleathewood Lane, Caynham Road, Unnamed road South East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from A528 to Alderton
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Overhead cabling required.

Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 for 5 days
Purpose: New Gas Service
Alternative Route : High Street, Castle Street, Mill Street, Bell Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road, Child's Ercall
Date & Duration: 24th March 2025 between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Tree Trimming
Alternative Route : Narrow Lane, Hatton Road, A41, Unnamed road West and North West through Howle


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Caynham Road, Caynham
Date & Duration: 25th March 2025 for 1 day between 09:00 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closue-Openreach-Renew pole
Alternative Route : Sheet road, A49, A4117, Caynham road
