What is happening?

Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Order
Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Section 257
and Paragraph 1 of schedule 14
Northumberland County Council
Wansbeck (Public Footpath No 48) Diversion Order 2024

The above Order was made on 4th December 2024 and was confirmed on 5th March 2025. The effect of the Order will be as follows:-
Public Footpath No 48 (Former Wansbeck District)
To extinguish the footpath from a point, at the snicket 45 metres south of Oxford House (O.S grid reference NZ 2655, 8542), in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 80 metres, to a point 70 metres south of number 17 Stakeford Crecent (NZ 2662, 8538).
To create a 1.8 metre wide footpath, from a point, at the snicket 45 metres south of Oxford House (O.S grid reference NZ 2655, 8542), in a southerly direction, then easterly, then southerly, then easterly, then southerly, then easterly, then southerly, then easterly direction, for a total distance of 110 metres, to a point 70 metres south of number 17 Stakeford Crecent (NZ 2662, 8538).

The Order comes into force on the date on which Northumberland County Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with, but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may, apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within six weeks from 21st March 2025 as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
