Order 2025
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following length of footpath. An 88 metre length of footpath from its two accesses onto Old Dryburn Way and linking through to A691 Southfield Way, Durham to enable street lighting electric upgrade works to be undertaken.
An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the western side of the closure, via the footway of the A691 Southfield Way and either the footpath link to Old Dryburn Way, to the south east, or via the associated footway from the Hospital Roundabout, to Old Dryburn Way leading to the eastern side of the closure and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on Monday 7/4/2025 and are anticipated to be completed in 1 month. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
