What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
The East Sussex (C14 Tidebrook Road, Wadhurst/Mayfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Tidebrook Road – from the junction with C568 Lake Street to the junction with U7546 Riseden Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with a safe route for through traffic via C568 Lake Street – A267 Mayfield Road – B2100 Wadhurst Road, Best Beech Hill and vice versa. The Order commenced 28 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 26 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7663 Common Lane, Laughton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Common Lane – from the junction with C326 Shortgate Lane to the junction with B2124 Lewes Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2124 Lewes Road – C326 Shortgate Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 26 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 26 and 28 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C15 Cowbeech Road, Warbleton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Temporary Road Closure
Cowbeech Road – from the junction with C601 Kingsley Hill to the junction with C15 Foul Mile.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C601 Kingsley Hill – C409 Hammer Lane – C15 Cowbeech Road, Foul Mile and vice versa. The Order commences 25 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (U7877 Mill Lane, Crowborough) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Mill Lane – from the junction with C11 Croft Road to the junction with A26 Beacon Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C11 Croft Road – B2100 High Street – A26 Beacon Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 24 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 March and 5 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C120 The Street, Litlington) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
The Street – from the junction with P8003 Clapham Lane to the junction with C120 Lullington Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C120 Lullington Road – C39 North Street, Waterloo Square, High Street, Whiteway, Alfriston Road – A259 Eastbourne Road – C120 Litlington Road, The Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 24 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 and 26 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C667 Itford Farm Lane, Itford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Itford Farm Lane – 60 metres either side of level crossing.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 4 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 7 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C343 New Road, Hellingly) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
New Road – from the junction with P9151 Magnolia Close to the junction with P9142 Honeysuckle Avenue.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C343 New Road – C208 Park Road – A271 Hawkswood Road, Amberstone – C343 New Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 7 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 9 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7584 Meres Lane, Cross in Hand, Five Ashes) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Meres Lane – from the junction with A267 Mayfield Road to the junction with A267 Heathfield Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Heathfield Road, Mayfield Road – U7589 Leeds Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 9 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 11 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7849 School Lane, Crowborough) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
School Lane – from the junction with U7849 Hoadleys Lane to the junction with U7474 St Johns Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7849 Hoadleys Lane – C11 London Road – U7475 Ghyll Road – U7474 St. Johns Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 7 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 10 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C16 White Horse Road, Warbleton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

White Horse Road – from the junction with C277 North Road to the junction with U7410 Shrieks Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C16 White Horse Road, Bodle Street Road, Back Lane – C279 Rookery Lane – B2096 Earls Down, Carricks Hill, Battle Road, Woods Corner – C18 South Lane – C277 Bluekiln Road, Redpale, North Road – C16 White Horse Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 7 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 7 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7675 The Street, Chiddingly) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
The Street – from the junction with U7675 Muddles Green to the junction with U7041 Church Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7675 The Street, Highlands Lane – U7676 Whitesmith Lane – A22 Whitesmith, Holmes Hill, Golden Cross – C114 Burgh Hill Road, Muddles Green – U7675 Muddles Green and vice versa.
The Order commences 8 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 10 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A271 Upper Horsebridge, Hailsham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2
To allow Chaffins Holdings Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Upper Horsebridge – from the junction with B2104 London Road to the junction with C208 Hawks Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A271 Upper Horsebridge, Lower Horsebridge – A22 Boship roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Arlington Eagles roundabout – A295 South Road, George Street, North Street, High Street, Battle Road – A271 Hawkswood Road and vice versa. The Order commences 6 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 10:00hrs to 16:00hrs on 6 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C8 School Hill/Spithurst Road, Barcombe Cross & Barcombe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
School Hill/Spithurst Road – from the junction with C8 High Street to the junction with U5507 Boast Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C8 Spithurst Road, Newick Park Road – U5653 Cornwells Bank – C651 Cinder Hill – A275 Chailey Green Road, South Street, South Road, Resting Oak Hill, Cooksbridge Road, The Street – C8 The Drove, North End Lane, Hamsey Road, High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 9 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 11 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Upper Horsebridge – from the junction with B2104 London Road to the junction with C208 Hawks Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A271 Hawkswood Road – A295 Battle Road, High Street, North Street, George Street, South Road – A22 Arlington Eagles roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Boship roundabout – A271 Lower Horsebridge, Upper Horsebridge and vice versa. The Order commences 9 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 9 and 10 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Diversion via U7864 Nan Tucks Lane – U7406 Shepherds Hill – U7404 Pound Lane – B2102 Framfield Road, Blackboys Road, The Street, Hammonds Green and vice versa.
Spurlings Lane – from the junction with U7866 Sandy Lane to the junction with U7403 Etchingwood Lane.
Diversion via U7866 Sandy Lane – U7403 Etchingwood Lane and vice versa.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 7 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 9 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
