What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U2081 Park Avenue, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Park Avenue – from the junction with A2270 Willingdon Road to the junction with A2021 Kings Drive.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Kings Drive – A2270 Willingdon Road.
The Order commences 21 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 21 and 22 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. If you require further information telephone Network Management on 0345 60 80 193.
The East Sussex (U2152 Ceylon Place, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
U2152 Ceylon Place, Eastbourne – from the junction with U2148 Bourne Street to the junction with A259 Seaside.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2148 Bourne Street – A259 Seaside Road, Seaside and vice versa.
The Order commences 21 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 and 31 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U2145 Burlington Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will continue the closure on the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Burlington Road – from the junction with B2106 Terminus Road to the junction with U2145 Elms Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2145 Burlington Road, Elms Avenue, Elms Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 27 March 2025 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice dated 12 February 2025 and a Temporary Successive Notice dated 5 March 2025 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.

The East Sussex (B2104 Ersham Road/Hailsham Road, Hailsham & Stonecross)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Ersham Road/Hailsham Road – from the junction with A295 South Road to the junction with B2247 Dittons Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A295 South Road – A22 Polegate Road, Hailsham Road – A27(T) Polegate bypass – A22 Golden Jubilee Way – B2247 Dittons Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 24 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 and 29 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7730 Upper Street, East Dean)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Upper Street – from the junction with U7731 Went Way to the junction with A259 Friston Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Friston Hill, Eastbourne Road – C37 Gilberts Drive – U7730 Lower Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 7 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 7 and 9 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 Seaside, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Seaside – from the junction with U2160 Carlton Road to the junction with A2021 Whitley Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Whitley Road – A2040 Upper Avenue, The Avenue – A259 Upperton Road, Station Parade, Terminus Road, Ashford Road, Susans Road.
The Order commences 8 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
