Hertfordshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Waiting Restrictions

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE ORCHARD, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Orchard, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Blakemere Road north eastwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HARMER GREEN LANE, DIGSWELL) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harmer Green Lane, Digswell from its junction with Pennyfathers Lane northwards, north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 536m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane, Hertford Road, A1000 (Hertford Road/Welwyn By Pass Road), B197 Great (North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road), Mardleybury Road, Bramfield Road, Burnham Green Road and Harmer Green Lane.

The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN ST GILES ROAD, CODICOTE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of St Giles Road, Codicote from its junction with Bury Lane north eastwards, north westwards and northwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HOWLANDS AND SHEEPCOTE, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:

  1. That length of Howlands, Welwyn Garden City from a point in line with the western boundary of No.170 Howlands north eastwards for a distance of approximately 180m.

    An alternative route will be via Howlands, A1000 (Chequers/Broadwater Road), Bridge Road East, Hernswood Road and Howlands.

  2. That length of Sheepcote, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Howlands north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m.

    An alternative route will be via Howlands, Beehive Lane, Moorlands and Sheepcote.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BULLENS GREEN LANE, HATFIELD/COLNEY HEATH) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield/Colney Heath from its junction with Fellowes Lane northwards, then north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Roestock Lane, a distance of approximately 647m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Fellowes Lane, Tollgate Road and Roestock Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN THE SERVICE ROAD LEADING TO MIMMS HALL ROAD, POTTERS BAR) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road leading to Mimms Hall Road, Potters Bar from its easternmost junction with B556 Mutton Lane south westwards, north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B556 Mutton Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
