What is happening?

HORSHAM DISTRICT COUNCIL
(OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2023 (Amendment No.7) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Horsham District Council (“the Council”) in the
exercise of its powers under Sections 32, 33 and 35(1)(a)(i)(ii) and (iii) to the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, proposes
to make The Horsham District Council (Off-Street Parking Places)
(Consolidation) Order 2023 (Amendment No. 7) Order 2024, the effect of
which will be as follows:
1) Reflect circa 9% tariff rises across all car parks (town centre car parks
and rural car parks).
2) the introduction of season tickets and a 9% tariff increase to current
season tickets.
3) the introduction of overnight tariffs and extension of charging hours,
all as listed in Appendix I to the Off-street Car Park Order Updates
2024/25.
4) Remove reference to Parking Discs in Steyning and Billingshurst
leisure centres.
5) Amend charging period at North Street from 0830am to 0800pm to
0800am to 0800pm.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 18th April 2025.
A copy of the proposed Order, together with a statement of the Council’s
reasons for making it, may be inspected at the Council’s Offices at Albery
House, Springfield Road, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9.00am
and 5.00pm, for 21 days following the date on which this notice is published.
If you wish to comment on or object to the proposed Order, please write to
the Council’s Parking Services team at the address below by 10th April 2025,
specifying the grounds for objection.
