Rook Lane - Temporary Road Closure To Underground Structure Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Rook Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Rook Lane - from the junction with Bath Street, north westwards for a total distance of 54 metres.

This Order will enable Openreach to carry out underground structure works.

The Order becomes effective on 3rd April 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 13th April 2025 and last until 13th April 2025 between the hours of 08:00 - 16:00 for a total of 8 hours.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.
