What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
U36 BUCKTON TO ROAD END AT FORESHORE BELFORD
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U36 from its point 590 metres north-east of its junction with the A1, continuing north-east for a distance of 40 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 25th March 2025 until the 26th March 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 25th March 2025 until the 26th March 2025 between the hours of 23:30 and 05:30 during this period.
There is no alternative route available for vehicular traffic.

The closure has been requested by Chevron TM Ltd to lift out level crossing to allow tamper works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
