(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY SB52 – TOWCESTER)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists from proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway SB52 in Towcester as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said length of footpath are unaffected.
RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The whole length of bridleway SB52 is to be closed. The bridleway commences off Old Tiffield Road at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP6905 4962. The route then proceeds generally northeast for 310 metres, crossing the A43 road to terminate at point B on the map at NGR SP6915 4989 at the junction with Tiffield Road. The route to be closed is shown on the map by a solid black line A-B.
REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety to allow the excavation and pull pits for ducting and HV cables.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 27th March 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: There is no suitable alternative route.
