Disabled Persons’ Parking Places (No.3) Order 2024
On 10 March 2025, South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order, under the terms of the Road Traffic Act 1984, thereby introducing new regulated parking bays for the sole use of ‘blue’ badge holders on Glenfruin Road, Blantyre; Churchill Crescent, Green Street, St Brides Way and Woodlands Gardens, all Bothwell; Cairnswell Avenue, Cambuslang; Alberta Avenue, Bruce Terrace, Columbia Way, Eider Place, Le Froy Gardens, Mallard Place, Melbourne Avenue, Milford, Murray Road, Pine Crescent, Sandpiper Place, Sycamore Crescent, Troon Avenue, Turnberry Place and Wardlaw Crescent, all East Kilbride; Balmore Drive, Crona Drive, Neilsland Road, Novar Street, Raeburn Crescent and Woodlea Drive, all Hamilton; Braeside Crescent, Kirkmuirhill; Smiddy Court, Lanark; Beech Terrace, Drygate Street, John Street, Miller Street, Mossblown Street and Station Road all Larkhall; Annan Drive, Avonbank Road, Bankhead Road, Cathcart Road, Colville Drive, Craignure Road, Dale Way, Dryburgh Avenue, Fernbrae Way, Gilmour Crescent, Iona Road, Kingsheath Avenue, Main Street, Pinkerton Avenue and Skye Road all Rutherglen; Lockhart Place, Stonehouse.
The Order which comes into operation on 28 April 2025, was advertised in the East Kilbride News, Hamilton Advertiser, Rutherglen Reformer and Lanark and Carluke Advertiser in the week beginning 13 January 2025. The effect of the order is as previously stated.
A copy of the Order and a map relative thereto are available for inspection on the council’s website.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by 21 April 2025, apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.
