The above Order, made on 11th March 2025 under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (“the 1990 Act”) and under section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by diverting Public Footpath nos. 043 & 042 Westhoughton as described below:

which leads over land situated west of Wingates Industrial Estate off Chorley Road Westhoughton Bolton BL5 3LY commencing from point A at grid reference SD64166 07556 in a generally south west by south direction to point B at grid reference SD64611 07547 for a distance of approximately 11 metres then running in a generally south by west direction to point C at grid reference SD64596 07468 for a distance of approximately 81 metres as shown by the continuous bold line between points A–B–C on the Order Plan over a total distance of approximately 92 metres and of an approximate width of 1.5 metres throughout over a natural surface.

which leads over land situated west of Wingates Industrial Estate off Chorley Road Westhoughton Bolton BL5 3LY commencing from point C at grid reference SD64596 07468 in a generally southerly direction to point G at grid reference SD64593 07413 for a distance of approximately 54 metres then running in a generally south by west direction to point H at grid reference SD64547 07211 for a distance of approximately 209 metres then curving in a generally southwest by south direction to point I at grid reference SD64410 07034 for a distance of approximately 236 metres as shown by the continuous bold line between points C–G–H–I on the Order Plan over a total distance of approximately 499 metres and of an approximate width of 2.2 metres over a natural and hardstanding surface.

If no objections are made, the Council may confirm the Orders. If objections are made and not withdrawn, the Orders will be sent to the Secretary of State for confirmation.
