What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(GREEK STREET SCHEME) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN AND TEMPORARY WEIGHT RESTRICTION) NOTICE 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce No left turn except buses and vehicles less than 26’-3” in length, No Left turn from Longshut Lane West, Cale Green onto Wellington Road South, Temporary 3.5T weight limit except buses and access Longshut Lane West, Cale Green for the full length, Temporary 7.5T weight limit except buses, coaches and access Adswood Road, Cale Green from the junction of Lowfield Road to the junction of Warren Road, Adswood Lane West, Cale Green for the full length, Temporary 7.5T weight limit except buses Booth Street, Cale Green for the full length whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary because works to replace the Network Rail Bridge and Greek Street Roundabout, including utility diversions, or are proposed to be executed. 
It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 49 weeks.
This Order is to come into operation on the 31 March 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
