Kiplingcotes Lane, Market Weighton - Temporary Traffic Regulation

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
PART OF KIPLINGCOTES LANE, MARKET
WEIGHTON (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/proceeding on foot/whether on
foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along Kiplingcotes
Lane, Market Weighton starting approximately
650 metres south of its junction with Goodmanham
Dale/Kiplingcotes Road southbound for a distance
of approximately 200 metres commencing 3 April
2025 until 8 April 2025. The reason for the closure
is to enable the proposed Kiplingcotes Lane, Market
Weighton “trial holes prior to bell mouth construction
for EGL2 power scheme” works, to be carried out and
completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will
be completed within six days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the Order is via Kiplingcotes Lane,
Kiplingcotes Road, Etton Westwood Road, South Dalton
Road, Gardham Road, A1079 York Road, Goodmanham
CP, Etton CP, Market Weighton CP, Cherry Burton CP,
Beverley Rural Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles
and pedestrians. The Order will commence 3 April
2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
18 months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
