What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(DUNSTABLE ROAD, CADDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dunstable Road, Caddington outside number 89.

This temporary closure is required to enable trial hole works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 10 April 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via A5183, Luton Road, A5065, Chaul End Road, Dunstable Road.

The Order will come into operation on 7 April 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SUNDON ROAD, HARLINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sundon Road, Harlington outside number 87 to 89.

This temporary closure is required to enable mains fitting and sluice valve replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 9 April 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Sundon Road, Church Road, Sharpenhoe Road, Bedford Road, Church Road, Sharpenhoe Road, Sundon Road, Streatley Road, Harlington Road, Sundon Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 April 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING

BURR STREET, DUNSTABLE

PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES

On 11th March 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:

To introduce Prohibition of Motor Vehicles from Monday to Friday between 8:20 – 9:00am and 2:45-3:30pm during term time on the following length of road in Dunstable:1.  Burr Street, full length.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) (Burr Street, Dunstable) Order 2025

Revocation:- The Central Bedfordshire Council (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) (Burr Street, Dunstable) Experimental Order 2024 will be revoked on the making of this order.

Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 26th March 2025. Details will be provided on request by e-mailing highways.consultation@ centralbedfordshire.gov.uk.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 11th March 2025, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HARLINGTON: PARTS OF FOOTPATH NO. 23, FOOTPATH NO. 4 AND FOOTPATH NO. 36)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public Footpath No. 23, Harlington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0365 2999 to OS GR TL 0350 292 along part of public Footpath No. 4 which extends from OS GR TL 0384 3002 to OS GR TL 0387 2996 and along the length of public Footpath No. 36 from OS GR TL 0350 2972 to OS GR TL 0385 2994.

This temporary closure is required to install the remaining site drainage and to construct the new (FP36) and upgraded (FP23) Footpaths. The closure is expected to take place from 27/03/2025 for up to six months.

The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation for Footpath No. 4. runs through the estate, and to use the suggested connection to Bridleway No. 21 at the south. For Footpath No. 23 and Footpath No. 36 there is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

The Order will come into operation on 26th March 2025 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

Notice of Making of Public Path Order CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HOUGHTON REGIS: BRIDLEWAY NO. 57) PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 14 March 2025 under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 will create the public bridleway described below.

The length of Bridleway No. 57, Houghton Regis to be created extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 49, Houghton Regis at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0004 2429 in a generally east-southeasterly direction for approximately 50 metres to OS GR TL 0008 2428 then continues in an east-north-easterly direction for approximately 200 metres to OS GR TL 0026 2437 then continues in a generally eastnorth-easterly direction for approximately 86 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 58, Houghton Regis and Footpath No. 56, Houghton Regis at OS GR TL 0034 2440.

The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order and will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.

Notice of Making of Public Path Order CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HOUGHTON REGIS: FOOTPATH NO. 57) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 14 March 2025 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish the public footpath described below.

The length of Footpath No. 57, Houghton Regis to be stopped up extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0001 2427 in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 41 metres to OS GR TL 0004 2429 then continues in a generally east-south-easterly direction for approximately 51 metres to OS GR TL 0008 2428 then continues in an east-north-easterly direction for approximately 200 metres to OS GR TL 0026 2437 then continues in a generally eastnorth-easterly direction for approximately 86 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 58, Houghton Regis and Footpath No. 56, Houghton Regis at OS GR TL 0034 2440.

The footpath is stopped up over its full width.
