NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Section 35C and 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and regulation 25 of The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, Middlesbrough Borough Council intends to vary the charges to be paid in connection with the use of the on-street and off-street parking places from the Existing Charges to the New Charges as set out in the Schedules to this Notice. 

The variations listed in the Schedules to this Notice will take effect on 7th April 2025. 

A copy of this Notice and the Council’s statement of reasons may be examined at Newport Community Hub, St Paul’s Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 5NQ Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and at www.middlesbrough.gov.uk. 

First Schedule - On Street Parking Places

Parking charges in Schedules 8, 8A and 9A of The Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough (Central and North Area) (Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (as amended) are varied as follows: 

SCHEDULE 8: Park Street Parking Places (Monday to Saturday 8.00am to 6.00pm) Existing Charges £1.20 for a maximum stay of 30 minutes no return within 2 hours. New Charges £1.30 for a maximum stay of 30 minutes no return within 2 hours. 

Albert Road Parking Places (Monday to Saturday 8.00am to 6.00pm) and Fry Street Parking Places (Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 6.00pm) Existing Charges £1.20 for up to 30 minutes; £1.80 for a maximum stay of up to 1 hour no return within 2 hours. New Charges £1.30 for up to 30 minutes; £1.90 for a maximum stay of up to 1 hour no return within 2 hours. 

Bolckow Street, Clarendon Road (south side), Grange Road, King Edward’s Road & Linthorpe Road Parking Places (Monday to Saturday 8.00am to 6.00pm) and Corporation Road, Crown Square, Elliot Street, Oak Street Parking Places (Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 6.00pm) Existing Charges £1.20 for up to 30 minutes; £1.80 for up to 1 hour; £2.50 for a maximum stay of 2 hours no return within 2 hours.
